So do I
Does it feel hot?
You've bled it right.
There shouldn't be water coming out of the system.
Any bubbles in the coolant header tank? _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)

With the engine cold take the top off the radiator and run the engine for for a few minutes. Your looking for some bubbles ... and for them to stop coming. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

I think I should check the thermostat... if the circuit remains "closed" as in cold conditions the radiator won't cool down the water....
I will bleed again, and look for the bubbles... but that clogged pipe make me think that the whole circuit could be in crappy conditions...
Fairings off again... _________________ Honda CB450K1 - CB750K2 - CB500K1 - RC30 - Ducati 750SS - Bimota SB6 |

The thermostat should fail in the open position but if it's blocked with crud.....
My big bore Sb6 is currently running very well without a thermostat so there's an option.
I'm still curious as to what all this crud is and where did it come from?
or..............
pop the whole thing in a crate send it to me in exchange for a sum of beer tokens and never worry about it again
you know it makes sense

this bike won't win. I will
If I'll decide to take off the thermostat (I'll use the bike with over 20°) should I strip down the engine?
please say "no"!
.... but when I twist the throttle all theese problems seem like fascinating _________________ Honda CB450K1 - CB750K2 - CB500K1 - RC30 - Ducati 750SS - Bimota SB6 |

WOOOOOOAH !!!!!!!
Ok there's one rule you have to know about Bimota ownership, it's this

Think it, yes but never ever say it out loud, and NEVER write it down cos you'll regret it and a Bimota knows how to make you very very sorry _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Sounds like an air lock to me, have you given a squeeze to the pipes with the rad caps off, to force the. Coolant around on initial start up, the crud will be that the ali hose was weeping and some bright spark introduced a sealer to block it, which when hot, and mixed with air sludgifies, , it may be around the journals of the head, which will require a strip if blocked, this is what it sounds like to me!, lesson- cars may take radweld type liquids but bikes dont, leaks should be fixed correctly not greased over! Hope its just an air lock! _________________ wot you got ?...me..well--

maybe you're right... a lot of bubbles came off from radiator cap.
now I will refill the reservoir tank that is empty (when I arrived from the ride was full and spitting out coolant)
I'm trying to fix the speedometer problem, I've disassembled the front axle and found two spacers... anyone knows the right position? (on the part list they are not listed)
I guess the tyre shop has remounted it wrong...
I wrote an email to bimota as I'm looking for the front brake switch and the rear brake switch, but nobody answer. Sometimes I feel ashamed of being italian (but without Berlusconi I feel a bit less ashamed ) _________________ Honda CB450K1 - CB750K2 - CB500K1 - RC30 - Ducati 750SS - Bimota SB6 |

Oh dear, sounds like it's time for the head to come off.
Had this very same problem with the big bore six. Turned out it needed the head and block skimmed and a new gasket.
(much eaiser to sell it to me)

Well, lets put it in perspective, my sb8r , which has only been in my possesion for 5 weeks, was run 1mile, guess what, previous owner opted for gasket seal over the gasket( wtf), and its spat its expensive oil all over the inside of its bellypan, and my garage floor! So re-use if you want, mine was just oil, your could be coolant and oil! I would change for sure! _________________ wot you got ?...me..well--

I mean that sounds strange that a Head Gasket could be worn after only 3500km.
But Is it is I would change.... I've nevere reused a head gasket.... Well only on 2strokes like Ts400 _________________ Honda CB450K1 - CB750K2 - CB500K1 - RC30 - Ducati 750SS - Bimota SB6 |

no,thought you meant,re-use it,coz its only done 3500, the reason the head would be taken off would be to clean the crud out of the galleys, the crud might be copious ammounts of sludge,(bars /radweld/etc) that may have been introduced prior to your ownership. if the water/coolant aint flowing, then the heated water in the head will send the thermostat up,but the rads will have cooler water because of flow restriction,. if everythings tight (rad caps/hose clips etc) with the motor up to temp/running,(and with gloves on) you should be able to squeeze the rubber hoses both sides of the rad,if the pipes are swollenhard to squeeze, theres still a blockage as the pump swells them under pressure! which could mean head removal to clean out the sludge /deposits. _________________ wot you got ?...me..well--
