Hello Oily,
yes, I joined many moons ago but strayed from the path of Bimota righteousness onto BMW ownership for a bit. It's a pity about the enthusiasts circle going but my renewed interest in the forum is more about trying to (eventually!) get the DB1 going,
Cheers, Mike J.
P.S. Monty has now changed her name and left the country-I think she's going under the alias of Martin Bormann |

Monty can't hide
Nothing wrong with BM's, I've owned two or three but never instead of Bimota's _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)

Steady there Oily, I thought we'd burnt that particular "soap box" standpoint and scattered the ashes to the 4 corners of the earth, but yeh, staggering if he's been around for 4 years, and now found the Forum, but no matter, the more the merrier, I was geting complacent with the other regulars anyhow |

Congrats on posting a picture Mike, thought she was lying on her side at first and I felt sad (Bike that is, not the cat, if cat found lying on her side, give me a shout)
I see pictures like that and I think Woopey, a Barn find, what fun I'm going to have here. When my DB4 turned up this week, I was mighty glad to see her in such fine condition, and then I thought Uhhh???, What am I going to do with it, nothing needs sorting, and had to pack my spanners away. |

Hello Oily,
that's the new fairing material-you fill the bubbles full of helium and the bike floats around the track!
Cheers, Mike J. |

No,
it's because I don't want to throw it away I won't be taking on the track (groan) ! Besides, I'm too old and sensible to do that sort of thing (hence the BMWs).

Know what you mean
North of London eh?
That means your in the same country as the monthly meet. BMW will be perfect until the DB is on the road.

Thanks for the info., Oily, but I think it's a bit out of my way at the moment! Just pulled the DB1 out of the garage to give it a bit of a seeing over but it's going to be a long haul to get it running. The carbs look pretty massive so I suspect they may be Malossis-we'll see.
Cheers, Mike J.

Lots of kid or should I say Catnappings occur in Brazil, drug and running gun battles, don't hold out much hope for Monty, hopefully just flesh wounds, I know a good vet, but he's very Pricey but worth it.
Piccies please of DB1 standing upright in the fresh air, we all love a good barn find, even if it is in your own Barn, I suppose your son may be back in bed now though? |

I will let you know about Brazil. I am there in ten days ... always a bit odd working there for me. Bikes always look worse then they actually are Mike, once you get stuck in it will be done before you know it _________________ Pomps

Don't be bringing any model "statues" back Pompey, you never know what they might be filled with, and if you chance upon a stray cat, best to give it a "wack" to keep it away as they have rabies over there |
