Getting Rooting Tooting close meself, but then aren't most modern Day bikers in this sort of region nowadays? Wheres all the scallies? Mind you with 125's over 3.5K on the road I'm not surprised.
Hhmm, Do SAGA do Motorcycle insurance? Could be a gap in the market there? |

Rotegrife, yeh those are the ones, I appreciate your Honesty re the wheels, evidently know that they would need stripping, inspection etc bearings you name it, but was thinking more on the lines of keeping for a potential DB1 if one should ever pop up in the next 20 years or so, handling and looks would be improved with white five spoke 17 inchers
I presume the rear disc you are also selling is OK? cast iron Brembo/Bimbo with 5mm. Like to have a few spares |
for a DB1 they would be spot on perfect, so long as they are checked over first- go for it, 58 watchers at the mo'- bloody hell
they are extremly nice wheels of course, and bloody light too- rare, period, matching, I've been building up to selling these for a long time, I sold an 851 16" wheel a couple of years ago- wish I had that again!-
the disc is excellent, only going because I've got another spare with the cromate coating redone- looks like new. I'll certainly not need 2 spares and probably never need 1- I hope.
Germanic hey . . .s'pose your right- I've been here a looooooooong time, but, don't plan on coming back permanently _________________ Bimota DB2 tricolore, Bimota YB4e.i, Ducati 851 tricolore, Ducati Hailwood Replica, 1968 Gitan Grillo sport, Yamaha GTS1000, Honda Deauville, Honda GB500 Clubman

Nice ! What production number ??
I bought one in FL last year - last digits are '000002', which may mean it was the second one made. Or those were the handiest numbers when Mario was stamping the Frame.....
Not to be an anorak, but the US versions I've seen have Ohlins shocks (looks like yours has the Paoli?) and grey-colored mirrors.
And the riding position is not for Geezers - it's bloody uncomfortable around town. |

Cheers Jeremy, No. 56, so could have been the first or the last one as you say. Some had Paoli rear shocks, come Ohlins, again all depends which one they grabbed hold of
Mirrors should be black, but they were changed for Cagiva Mito red ones, that look fine, as its the same colour as the fairing red, indicators were also changed for ones from a Triumph, that I'm also fine with
Any pictures of your DB4? We love pictures
Don't mind the "anorak" have several myself depending on the subject |

Well there was an Inoperative Banjo Brake light switch, simples though as I have another 3 in the garage, and a sticky indicator switch but a loosening of the clamp bolt sorted that one, was hardly worth mentioning them.
Have plans afoot, always seem to pick up "winter" projects at the start of Spring somehow. Mods to the Db4 are in progress, some bits arrived, some comng, some to be made, some to be ordered, could do with something more challenging though, perhaps something thats been stood for 5 years or so |

I just bought a brand new set of DB4 mirrors that I picked up with a few DB2 parts, if you may be interested in them. I'm hoping they arrive in the next couple of days. _________________ Look for my books...

Possibly so, as when they arrive you will see that they are same shape as DB2 but a different fixing, 2 pins and one bolt as opposed to 2 Bolts. But like all Bimota mirrors they're all pretty useless with their postion and rear view, pure style over substance and function |

Oh of course I keep them on the bike, if for nothing but hiding the holes in the fairing that they cover and keeping the top part of the screen together, but wo betide anyone that uses them to check for traffic etc when out on the road |

Well it was afine day yesterday so the DB4 went for and sailed through her first UK MOT, picked up the MOT certificate this morning and armed with a truckload of documents, marched down to the local DVLA offices, pure walk in the park, "wheres the date of manufacture?"..."There" "oh Ok thanks, copies of insurance certificate, MOT given and VAT forms, bike over 10 years old so no EU certificate of conformity needed, No VOSA approval, tick box, tick above box, 35squid first registration fee and 6 months road tax fee handed over, job done, a few days for the Reg plate certificate to arrive followed by V5, all sorted. New tyres ordered, clutch pressure plate and a new clutch plate (its a bit graunchy), Inop rear brake light banjo switch was just corrosion on the terminals, so a quick clean and no replacement (But it'll be sure to go AWOL in the future)
Shame though its work all next week and the one after, next weekend the "in-laws", then my son the following then a whole FREE weekend to myself and the DB4, hopefully the sun will be shining, and its also Manchester Bike show for any interested parties?? |

I should rename this post as the end of a SAGA, as my shiney new registration Number and Tax disc arrived in the POST today, Woopee... Only went to the DVLA last Friday so thats pretty good going, they've given it a W plate age related, I was expecting a V but evidently happy with a W. And the last 3 letters are ABA , anyone make the Anorak link with those letters and the Bimota Forum??
Tyres turned up today, and one new clutch plate with new tabs as the clutch was a bit "graunchy" recommended to change every 6000miles anyhow....Eh thats it, just waiting on the Fitting of tyres and some nice shiney right angled tyre valves, Oh and the SPS Discs also.
And what next? Well the hunt has started again for an itch that I wanted to scratch some years ago, but went the way of Bimota instead, which has sucked time, but the itch is still there, viewing Friday and Sunday,,,Eaney Meaney, Miney Mo....Can't say anymore as its not a Bimota, and we can't have a "Other Bikes" section by popular vote.... |
