Yes.....front cam chain guide just slots in with the pins on top
I have no idea what you mean by coolant pump cover
Front sprocket is GSXR. Change it now if there is any sign of wear as you cannot change it with the engine in the frame _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)

for "coolant pump cover" I mean the alluminium cover of the pump, sealed with an o-ring with a mandatory hole in the middle.
in the part list below it's clear even if without part number:

Today I've put on the head, camshafts, checked tappets clearance. Tomorrow I'll put the head cover, but I've noticed that the tappet bolt gaskets are not included in the gasket set ....
BTW: the cam chain tensioner has to be installed in the T position, the same of camshafts installing position, true?
I'm quite slow because in the weekend I have to restore even the CB750 I've crashed last year.... _________________ Honda CB450K1 - CB750K2 - CB500K1 - RC30 - Ducati 750SS - Bimota SB6 |

Ok, engine reassembled.
Now I'll wait for the spare pump and the new hoses and then (crossed finger) rock 'n roll again.... _________________ Honda CB450K1 - CB750K2 - CB500K1 - RC30 - Ducati 750SS - Bimota SB6 |

engine ready to be dropped :
About the tacho problem: when I bought the bike it worked well. Changed tyres and it stopped.
I think the tyre has reassembled in some wrong way the front axe: can you tell me if the following picture has the right position of the spacers before and after the tacho gear?
|
I resume this post because I finally filled the coolant, installed forks and I was to mount the wheel but I'm not sure it has a correct assembly.
apart the tacho problem (now it seems to work... checked bt hand... will see on the road) I don't trust in the wheel allignement.
The non-tacho side of the pivot has a strange spacer (in the picture is fitted on the pivot arm) that can't protect the bearing as the inner lip hit the inner bearing race. On the tacho side there are the two poor, cheep allu spacer and the result is that the distance from the tacho leg to the rim is some mm less than the other side.
Even the tacho-side caliper shave the rim in rotation.
Obviously the part list scheme is pure immagination of some italian designer as it has no match to my bike.
can someone check the leg-to rim lip distance in both sides on a sb6 with Marchesini wheels? _________________ Honda CB450K1 - CB750K2 - CB500K1 - RC30 - Ducati 750SS - Bimota SB6 |

...Would love to help Marco but have not got a SB6 with Marchesini's fitted...
Tacho in UK means Rev counter
You are referring to the speedo drive
Easiest reference is...Do the brake discs run central in the callipers ? _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)

Mako,
I have also the Marchesini wheels but I don’t have the spacers in the front wheel?
The non-tacho side of the pivot has a strange spacer (in the picture is fitted on the pivot arm)..... What do you mean
Can you make a better picture of the spacer

I meant the spacer in the picture below:
I haven't found any close picture of the non-speedo side (thanks Oily , in Italy speedometer is "tachimetro", so....), but sound strange to me a spacer large as to protect bearing but with a 3mm of space to collect dirt and dust... bimota genius?
from non-speedo to speedo side, on the axle are fitted:
the spacer, the hub, a little ring-spacer, speedo drive, another ring-spacer, final allu-bolt with lip that match the fork leg.
assembled in this way it doesen't seem perfect to me... tomorrow I'll take some reference in mm, but measured "by eye" the front wheel is not centered in fork legs _________________ Honda CB450K1 - CB750K2 - CB500K1 - RC30 - Ducati 750SS - Bimota SB6 |

Had the front (and rear) wheel out of an SB6, never thought to take pictures, Sorry. They would be show exactly the same as the pictures Vince posted. NO spacers...Antera or carbon wheels.
The Speedo end of the axle is firmly located in the bottom of the fork leg but the other end could be moved in or out by 1-2mm before being clamped up.
As mentioned in a previous post, the important thing is that the discs are running central in the callipers _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)

The “spacer” look like the part that’s normally in the wheel for the speedo drive but the picture isn’t clear enough (for me)…. So I could be totally wrong…
As I wrote I don’t have any spacer….. the clearance between the fork legs and the brake disc is very minimal.
When I disassembled the bike I had some pics made as a reminder, maybe it’s useful for you. _________________ vince
