Try not to get carried away in your rush, but your desires are being met at the moment (should always be able to trust a fellow Bim Forum Enthusiast) A consignement of 4 frame plugs are being sourced and sent, I know you asked for 2, one to replace and one as a spare, and yes these are the silver alloy, 50mm O/D Bimota Logo'd Frame plugs held by a small grub screw allen key headed, 3mm I believe (god how sad the Sh one T you hold in your head) A list of other spares available is also being compiled as you were after a DB4 owners handbook and a leather fob also so we are asking after these also. Prices seem most reasonable compared to the scammers, I'd love to charge half that price but wouldn't as it should be far less. And of course you would be able to use your new "paypal" account
Its strange you should lose the top frame plug as the grub screw that holds it in place, tight agains a groove on the frame plug, screws in from the top, so even if it comes lo0se it wouldn't fall out. Whereas the bottom "b" frame plug has a fixing screw that screws from the underside and if it comes loose it evidently it would fall out. I now have to check my grub screws to see if they are tight. PS All coutest of another "sound" member on the Forum, no credit for myself please |
Yeah i'm in no hurry Steve. I wasn't planning on buying anything until i'd heard back from you guys. I guess i can trust you as you got the colour, size, material, fixing etc right in your description . I'd like to find a way to pay you guys back one day for your generousity and assistance.
I'm not sure how the previous owner lost the frame plug but it would pay to check yours. I have tomorrow morning off before i start night shift again so hope to get the carbs back in the db4 and fire it up.
Haven't checked the mail for a few days but will check tomorrow. Maybe the brochure will be there. I'll let you know.

No reflection on you chaps at all Steve. This clown could have been anywhere in the world. The original contact that i had from him said that was in GB but he was going to send the parts using UPS or FEDEX. That sparked my scam antenae straight away. Didn't sound like his english was very good either. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

I'll try sending them over Brian. I think the brichure went about a week and a half ago, I send a lot of magazines to Oz and a week is normal, but then if you live in the back of beyond.... |
Got the brochure in the mail today Steve. It may have got to my PO box as early as Monday this week as we haven't been in to check the mail. It turned up in great shape, thanks again _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Glad to hear it landed Brian, looks like you live way out in the back of beyond, most stuff I send to Oz takes about a week to get there, I also emailed a DB4 v 900SSie test review this morning?
Looks like the Leather key fobs are also still available, still waiting on the other stuff other than the frame plugs which are a goer. |

Believe it or not i'm only 25 k's from Mackay, a city of around 120 000 people. It probably does take an extra day to get to my local post office box and then we only check the mail a couple times a week. I still don't know why it takes so long, but anyway, just one of those things i have to deal with living in paradise . Looking forward to getting the db4 v 900SSie test thanks.

I ended up getting most of the stuff that i was looking for. Got the sb6 fairing washers thanks to oily. Got the db4 owners handbook, workshop manual, tool kits and frame caps thanks to 2bims and vort.
Interestingly... the frame caps are slightly different but still work fine. From memoty the caps that the guys found me were ex Vdue but very similar to the db4 items. Only differences are the groove around the circumference is slightly different and the 'b' logo was cut with a different tool. The logo's on the original db4 caps have been cut with a flat end mill and the new Vdue caps have been done with a tapered mill. Hard to tell unless you are looking for it. Luckily i have enough of each type to put 2 of one kind on each side of the bike and also have a spare for each side.
For anyone to notice they have to be even MORE OCD than me .
Thanks for everyone help in sourcing these parts for me. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Oh God...I'll have to rush outside and check my DB4 now Brian Cheers...How will I sleep if I have different frame plugs on either side and my spares dont Match to make a full set???
Supplier that provided them was/is the v-due man and hence must have been from V-dues, or being "bimota" would have been turned at the time by whatever honing drill bit was left in the machine I suppose....
Had a Company Vauxhall Car once that had all 4 wheel trims stolen....Took it to Plant Man on site and he said yeh, sure, have some spares....Went back to collect and Yup, thats great I said, until I happened to walk round to the passenger side....Nothing there? Plant mans response? "Yeh I only had 2 spares so put them on the drivers side for you, didn't think you'd notice..." Hey ho.... |

I've found another 'odd' thing on these db4's too . To do with the logo's on the middle fairing. Seems to be some differences between bikes. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

So after much comparing with other peoples, you've come to the conclusion that some people have bigger ones than yours? And that yours is the smallest of all? Sad fact of life sometimes Brian, but I'm sure you'll get over it |

Yes, too true Steve. As some say it's not the size of the hammer you use, it's how hard you swing it. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Yeah i've been spying on pics of your bikes as well as many others on google images.
I don't want to feak you out... but have a look at the orientation of the logo's on left and right. Yours is the same as mine as are all of the others that i've seen except for one .
I'm having a little trouble sleeping at night now _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |
