Carbs stripped rebuilt and balanced (not pouring fuel out number 3 carb now), perished coolant hose replaced just need a fuel tap or diaphragm to be on the road!!

Are you sure it's the sender? Have you shorted the fan wires at the switch to see if the fan goes? The standard suzuki switch doesn't cut in til 105 deg Cand cuts out again at 100 deg C. Some more info in this thread -

Have put a feed direct to the fan and it works i then shorted out the sender wiring and again the fan works but run the bike and it goes into the red with no go on the fan!

Yep, mine goes into the red before it starts too. Only starts if stuck in traffic or at the lights.

I have the same problem, so I had the question, what's wrong. First I tested the fan sensor, and that was okay. Then the temp sensor and that was also okay. Only then there is the temperature indicator. According to this forum is usually the indicator that is not reliable. The next step was to test the indicator, so I had to find a resistor, and preferably an adjustable resistor. How this would be solved by MacGyver........Idea..... grabs my radio pulled it apart, and there it is an adjustable resistor. (The music will not be mist, almost deaf on one side). Sad Now, according to the manual I performed the tests, and the results are shown in the drawing and photographs.

Conclusion, indicator deviates.

Solution, you can accept that the needle is in the red, you know it does not hurt until the needle indicates max.
Or to place a resistance of 8 ohms between the indicator and sensor. So you shift the reading a little back.

Why 8 ohms, if the sensor measured a temp of 105 °C the resistance is approx 24 ohms. That’s approx the same temp when the fan kicks in.
The reading is now at the end of the white surface of the indicator. Will the temp go higher then you know that the fan can not handle it.

I’m now testing it and it seems to by working.

How do you smart people think about it, if I’m wrong please tell me. I can only learn from it
Smile Smile Smile

Sorry, I could not make the text shorter. Embarassed
