I am at work as usual trying to plan the best use of my time off. For the first time in years I think I am free for the 09 Lemans 24 hour... So, I have a place in southern Brittany which is only 1 1/2 hours from the circuit. It will be full of my bike mates but anyone who wish's to "bring the bim" is welcome. Laughing

It is normally the third week end in April. There will be a whole bunch of people leaving from Exmouth and CTC. You could hook up with them for the ride?

Yep , its the 18th 19th of April. So the lads will leave around the 16th and back 20th or so. I can hook you up with the guys from that area who will be coming? Nearly all of them are either serving or Ex marines. You probably know half of them from the mess!

You'll be fine. Marines get more time off at easter then clint eastwards safety catch... I was always on leave for the le mans trip, its in the Navy regs that no leave should be stopped and no wars started during bike races. Honest. Who's the CO now, I'll ring him and demand you get a break!

Bugger me, good old Bill! I remember him well. I always felt sorry for his horse! It bolted once up the main drag carrying his 20 stone at hundred mph... very funny.

Is Mick Richardson there still? He 's a motorbike fanatic and always came to Le mans. I have not kept in touch for a few years... he should be a major (SD) by now?
