Lets stir things up a little, ignoring any "amount" produced, the only
25th aniversary model listed by Bimota was the YB11
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Bimota_motorcycles
It was issued in Blue, so does this mean any other version in Blue
was NOT a factory issue, but a "dealer" bike copy as a 25th aniversary
Also when rumbling about I came across this
http://motosvit.com/Bimota/Bimota.html
Scroll down to model types and click on for info _________________ Marty

Vort Has a very nice motorbike magazine article on the GB1, delicious bodywork and colour scheme and stripdown shots of the engine and frame. A very nice bike that worked and off the back of that they made the BB1, oops . I'm sure a pretty please could have him scanning it and mailing |

I think that THE OLD ADDAGE OF "iF IT AINT BROKE , DON'T FIX IT" doesn't translate too well in to Italian, Google Translate makes it into "round wheels good, square wheels better" |

I've just dug out a brochure from ZTK which was the German importer/distributer for a while.
The brochure has the full line up (DB2ef, DB4 on the back) including Silver/blue versions of YB11, SB6R and SB8R, they look like real pics, not photoshops, but the SB8 blue seems to be darker and has a red pinstripe.
Probably local made? never seen any of them, but like you all I know the YB11 silver/blues were actually sold.
the plot thickens . . . _________________ Bimota DB2 tricolore, Bimota YB4e.i, Ducati 851 tricolore, Ducati Hailwood Replica, 1968 Gitan Grillo sport, Yamaha GTS1000, Honda Deauville, Honda GB500 Clubman

As you know Ian, ZTK did a lot of fiddling with Bimota's including building the 6R nuda's
I'm suspecting that the blue 6r and 8r are ZTK creations to give the punters more choice and thefore sell more units _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)

'fiddling', 'sell more units'

I wouldn't be surprised if the YB11s were made by ZTK too (with Bimota consent?) and distributed from there. Anybody know for sure?
Main thing is that people like what they've got. Sometimes nice to know what you've got though
reminds me of some people I heard about who wanted to buy certain bikes new, but only if they were 'real' limited editions- which can have many interpretations.

Never a truer word said, but followed by, or originated by, many others of the Italian brand, Ducati being a true market leader in Ltd Editions, that once they sell out, they release a second batch and call it a mark II, etc, etc, etc, All down to choice really. But seeing as Bimota "normal" Editions" rarely exceeded the 4-500 Production run mark, they are pretty limited right off the bat |
