today I chopped some more redundant wiring out of the Tesi's loom - who needs a fuse box on a race bike?

and sorted the wiring runs - the CPU / relays / air pressure and temp sensors awaiting their "custom" mounting plate up front......

right-side, having removed the front of the battery carrier to allow easier access and discovered just where the 2 coils locate.........

not so much wiring to tape up now.....

the coils have 4 mounting points each. On the Tesi, the front coil only uses 1 mounting and the rear coil 2. I was looking for 4 for each coil.......................doh Very Happy

the 2 engine management relays (underneath) and the air pressure sensor (on top) on their mounting plate located on the front fairing stay........

with the air temp sensor ( the little red bulb in front of the relays) at the front of the plate

need to fabricate a mounting for the CPU now......

also the Ducati 996 starter solenoid arrived - that completes the electrical componentry required to get this project running.

so - its off with one of the Omega plates, remove the temporary aluminium bush, fit a new bearing and the pivot pin then repeat for the other plate.
Easier said than done.................... Wink

Are they easy to get bearings or specials? If easy, what are the part numbers? Yes I know, I'm picking your brains again. and were the pins expensive from Paolo? I will more than likely order a pair from him.

Hi Vince

pins were 79 Euros for 2 sets + shipping.

spent all morning trying to find replacement bearings - have secured a pair close by.
they are 24mm o/d x 12mm i/d x 13mm wide with a lube groove in the outer shell. The 12mm i/d is achieved by them having a hardened steel liner fitted (16mm o/d x 12mm i/d) otherwise the bearings alone are 24mm o/d x 16mm i/d.
If that makes any sense at all to an engineer Very Happy

I will give you the bearing code when I have collected them.

so - off with the right-hand plate..........

then time to employ some very basic engineering - large socket in vice.......

carefully support the frame plate ............

this is the offending bush that needs removing........

tools of the trade...........

and it's out...........

the bolt, nut and bush that I've used on both sides of the frame to enable the bike to stay mobile - now to be replaced with the correct pins and bearings Very Happy

Hi Vince

bearing code is :- NA4901 R.

note - they do not come with the "o" rings that seal between the outer bearing race and the spacer.

drilling the new oil cooler for the cylinder heads cams feed pipe.......

tapped to take the banjo bolt................

and fitted..............

the front swing-arm, mounted on it's newly acquired pivot pins and new bearings........

then I made a mounting plate out of polyprop sheet for the ECU, fitted the rubber mounts, tie-wrapped the plate to the front fairing bracket and mounted the ECU.

Few bits left to do, then its ready for displaying at the Manchester Bike Show on Friday Very Happy
