I quite like the way it's done, it throws away the conventional and thinks in a different way. The loom is quite minimal and you can work it out if you sit down with the Suzuki diagram, but like you I wish they'd have got the same coloured wires !!!

Never di find out why the electrics went off they work now. The 30amp fuse going wouldn't stop everything from working just the starter motor you could still bump the bike and ride it home. The fuses location is due to it being a componant part - it's the same as the GSX-R one. You could simply move the solenoid closer to the starter motor if you were concerned about the fuse location.

Have you ever tried to bump the bike as the main fuse is blown?

I think if the fuse is blown you cannot start the bike by pushing.
Perhaps the sb6 is different, but I have no wiring diagram of the sb6, so am not sure. (Wiring diagram sb6 always welcome) Cool Cool

But normally, including the GSX1100, you always need 12 v to start the engine.
That is because; the voltage through the main fuse is also going to the generator itself.
This kind of generator has no permanent magnets as the wan you now from you bicycle.
This generator has an coil that needs battery power to be com a electrical magnet, en only then it will generate electrical power to the bike.( this is lighter in weight than with a permanent magnet)
That control voltage for the generator is going through the main fuse.
When the bike is running and the main fuse is blown and you don’t shut down the bike, theoretically you can drive home….. I guess…Question Question

But again, correct me if I’m wrong…. Please.
Wink

OK - I was getting the bike ready for the MOT and found a front indicator was out. I got my circiut tester Idea and found a duff earth (I just made a new connection to earth rather than find the acual cause) but when I turn on the ignition to check it all - nothing.

I did the only thing I could think of and jiggled wires Rolling Eyes
which worked Very Happy

It's the block connector into the fusebox - it isn't falling apart but if it's at a certain angle it seems to cut everything. This might not be the reason for the original post but it gives the same symptoms
