Now....if he'd told me £2.5k way back when I was in the mood, it would be in my garage now. I think that's about the right price _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)

I was offered it for £2500 delivered a couple of weeks ago.
Half-tempted as I thought it would make a decent trackday bike - then C3P0 appeared..... _________________ Bimota SB6 and Benelli TNT 899S road bikes.

Hhhmmm, Yellow is one of my favourite colours, alongside Orange, red and that other infamous colour "Tri-color"
Used to have a Yam FZ600, bought new in Yamaha Red/white/black, takes me back. I always like this bike and then saw Laminators YB in silver/black and it looks SOso much better |

Oh the memories of FZ600, that fake ally looking steel frame and same for the swingarm, the weedy forks and poor brakes by comparsion to Brembo at the time, but to me it was the best
http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/yamaha/yamaha_fz600%2087.htm
Thing is immaculate versions of these are creeping in to the 1500-2,000GBP brackets, making that YB one pure bargain.... |

It may be "Blasphemy" on a Bimota site, but I think I'd rather have one of these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-FZR-600-1990-G-reg-/150806757543?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item231cc880a7
Same engine, not so quality parts maybe, but put together by Japanese, and would probably sell for half the price of the Bimota, and is better looking, and unfortunately , it would probably be a better investment also when you see the way of the smaller FZR400's etc and their prices |

go and drink a pint of salt water, say 100 hail mary's and flail yourself with a cat on nine tails. Stone him _________________ Pomps

But
It uses the earlier longer stroke 3HE engine when the Bim's the 4JH and it has a steel frame and swingarm. The later 600R / ThunderCat both have steel frames too.
What you really want is the FZR400RR 3TJ with a 600 engine - you can get them for about £1500 _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

I agree, when i had my fzr400sp it was so much fun on trackdays but that extra grunt from a 600 engine would have been nice to have. Perfect geometry for tucked i hoolaganism. and a stunning looking bike often overlooked for the zxr's and vfr's _________________ Pomps

Sounds like the average daily diet for a Bimota Owner |

Trying to find a good one is the hard part, looked a while ago for an FZR400RRSP but at 3-4K way too much for a toy "trinket" . Still like the ZXR400's although always reckoned the worst of the bunch but now fetching nice prices as FZR's and VFR400's all snaffled up.
Just recently when I was selling off my old motorbike magazine collections, the FZR400/NC30/ZXR400 grey market motorbike mags were the first ones snaffled up, some folk paying 15squid just for a 2quid magazine from the 90's, crazy folk. By comparison the Bimota article containing magazines are hard to give away, much smaller market indeed
My tip is on FZR600's, CBR600's the next for reaching crazy prices, all the 2-strokes have gone to mad crazy collectors and the 400's so what could be next????. Natural progression is to the remaining nice condition 600's |
