Well Some things have been busy, me mostly, but mostly boring "work" and not proper fun type "work" and thus have had to confine myself to ordering bits rather than fixing and stripping
Tank has now been stripped of its paint and the old filler cap taken off, what a bugger of a job, highly over engineered, must be over 40 separate parts in total that make up the cap and surround, absolute nuts.

Other parts awating delivery so that all the bodywork can go off for painting. New parts arrived, rear disc, new oil cooler, throttle grip and assembly, and sticker set for tank, seat unit and front cowl

A last second snipe on ebay, a third of new price, and with speedier delivery

Still in 2 minds as whether to get the old fairings done as well so I can have a change of clothes for her, in for a penny, in for a pound

Awaiting seat unit and other bits.

If weather OK this weekend, final strip of bike will go ahead.....more piccies

Well the colour red has now gone from the tank, and the other body parts are new, thus a blank canvas sits in front of me, mellow yellow, gives me 2 yellow bikes, one red, one orange and possibly 3 tri-colour...... Laughing

Stickers are Ducati standard for red or yellow

Well on the basis that Winter is upon us, and time is ripe for "winter Restos" I thought I'd update the "pup" resto, as I had a little time to gather in parts and painted bits and see if they all go back together again (if I can recall from the time it was taken apart that is) Laughing

Hi Guys, to be honest, the bike has tops 2 days to finish it off, but I am still waiting for the engine to be finished as the bottom crank bearing has gone awol, but in no hurry, bought last winter, now becoming this winters project.

Have everything else I need other than a new battery, all bolts are replaced or ready to be, new brake and clutch lines, new calipers and discs, fresh tyres on powder coated wheels, new carbon front and rear hugger/guards, chain guards also, clocks refreshed and refurbed, new tacho and speedo drives, all bodywork painted and all frame and headlamp assembly and clip ons, engine cases, valve covers etc all stripped and freshly powder coated, new chain and sprockets, all new bearings throughout fitted including steering head, new brembo gold series front brake and rear brake master cylinders and clutch covers.

Fresh billet clutch basket and new plates, new pressure plate and clutch cover, new carbon cambelt covers and billet sprocket cover, new rear light, new indicators, new front forks (which were a bargain and cheaper than refurbing exisitng.

NewOld stock Mikuni carbs also
New oil coller , high level with new ss hoses....

Rear shock stripped and powder coated spring, but have NOS marzocchi coming with remote , new mirrors and screen. All bolts SS, throughout, not one exisiting one remaining, NOS titanium Open high level Termi cans, exisitng headers cleaned and ploished, yolks stripped and powder coated also............

Yeh , OCD for sure. Not with everything, certainly not the house, hence the use of the dining room, havent seen the table for almost a year now Laughing Laughing Have no time for full time ocd, so apply it selectively Laughing

Sure theres something I've forgotten but will find out for sure soon.

Probably won't be keeping the bike when its completed, space is an issue, but would likely discover its not that 'special" compared to the Bimotas, so can't see myself using it really, so will punt on to some lucky customer for a song of the time and expense spent on it. Dont believe in keeping a bike if I'm not using it, put my other reamining Ducati up for sale also recently as it just never gets a look-in compared to the others. Been a pleasant experience once the grime, rot, rust and sheared bolts syndromes were all taken away. And been handy to find trustworthy and professional painters, powder coaters, polishers etc all local to myself that I would gladly use again
