Yes you can use a tank bag with suckers on it, bur clean the tank first.
I've always used a rucksack with the SB6 and it's never been a problem, mine has a belly strap and one at the chest. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

The last time I rode around Europe for more than a day I was on an 04 R1 with race rear sets and that was no problems, was a fair few years ago now.... If I come across a 6 or 6R thats in my price ball park I'll go for it, you only ever live once. Better to say I did it on a Bimota than, oh you toured on a Honda, how brave of you!!! |

Whoa.......
Hang on there a dang minuet....
you've just moved the goal posts
That's the first mention of a 6R.
Personally, I much prefer the SB6 but the 6R would be more suited to touring.
There seems to be more room in the cockpit and it feels more refined. Definitely a larger, more comfortable seat. Larger bodywork to strap luggage to and if your lucky enough to find a "fighter" version for sale, well that would be a lot more comfortable for touring _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)

Well there doesn't seem to be much of a price difference between the 6 and 6R, it will be more a case of whats becomes available in the next 12 months. |

The 6R was a much Gran Tourisimo bike but I always disliked the fighter nose fairing .... if only there was one with a more Suzuki style light .....
There you go oily I've racked it up now you knock it down (with a picture maybe). _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

hmm, i am going to have to be careful with my answer here..
No, what the hell are you thinking!!
I once rode my SB6 all the way to Ballarat from Melbourne, a mind boggling distance of 162K's, when i arrived i could hardly walk, i also was dreading the ride home. We took as many secondary roads as possible, but they were mainly boring straight roads, add to this the draconian attitude to speeding in Melbourne and you have a recipe for PAIN...
Now contrast this against my ride around Australia last year where i covered 20,000k's in 37 days and got off the Strom refreshed each day and it is easy to see why the SB6 should never be used as a commuter, do so at your own peril.
Now in all seriousness, if the roads you are going to be riding are lovely twisting alpine roads with very short commuting roads linking destinations up and you can survive with extremely limit carrying capacity, the SB6 would be great. _________________ Cheers
