Well last weekend i took both bims out for a ride with a friend of mine piloting one. We swapped bikes a few times and i'm amazed at how different the sb6 and db4 really are. Obviously there is a big difference in horsepower but the whole package is completely different. Ride position, handling, power, tourque, braking. This was the first time that i've jumped off one and straight onto the other and the difference was mind blowing. Both bikes have features that i love. The neck breaking horsepower of the sb6's midrange/ topend when the revs are used is exhillarating but the smoothness of the db4's gearbox is a pleasure.
I do have to say... it's nice to have a choice as to which bimota i'd like to ride today . _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Variety is the spice of life
I have a good choice too......
shall I ride a nice sedate SB6 or shall I ride a stump pulling, arm stretching big bore SB6
either way, anything less is like barbie's tricycle _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)

Hi Brian,
i am assuming the DB4 is more comfortable than the SB6, i only say this as my tiny brain could not compute the DB4 being more uncomfortable than the 6.
I love mine but as soon as i see a straight road it is torture, when you are on the gas enjoying the twisties, the SB6 is sublime, all other times, not so much.. _________________ Cheers

To be honest Steve i find the sb6 more comfortable than the db4 . I'm a short ass at 160cm so the sb6 fits me perfectly. Don't get me wrong, the db4 is quite comfortable to ride but i haven't spent enough time on the db4 yet to get used to it properly. The db4 is a bit taller and the ride position is just 'different'.
This may be dangerous for me to say here in 'bimota land', but for long trips i much prefer my cruiser (as he hides under the desk preparing to be flamed ) _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |
