It is definitely a TLR headlight (as per the engine) although I cannot say which year. I believe production of this model commenced in 1999 so I would go with that version...assuming there is a difference between '99 & '00 _________________ Seven |

thnx but if you take a look and compare three pictures to each other(that is what i did i just set the front of a TLR a SB8 and aTLS to each other and then i was not sure that the TLR is it but if you know it for sure let me know again) i am not sure.
My sb8r is indeed built in 99 and has an tlr engine. |

TLS was definitely the "half" faired version which came into production prior to the " r" which was supposed to be the sporty option and had a full fairing. I'm pretty sure that the r and s still shaired the same lights although the lense covers were slightly different. I'll make a few calls to some mechanic type mates to confirm... _________________ Pomps

I own 3 Bimota SB8RS bikes....the speedo cluster and engine are TLR .....THE HEADLIGHT IS TLS....
The TLR headlight will not fit on the SB8R/SB8RS.......it uses the TLS headlight.
You should be able to tell this if you look closely at the bikes in question.
I just bought some Euro spec TLS headlights for my SB8RS bikes....they are the ones that fit my bikes. And to the best of my knowledge, Bimota only used this TLS headlight on all the SB8R bikes....
If you still ate in doubt, then buy a few junk headlights off Ebay and check them out yourself.... |

Yeap, TLS it is. The lights look exactly the same thru the fairings ( full and Half) but they do differ in fittment... _________________ Pomps

I posted this question on the TL owners Forum and received the following response:
"The TLR's headlight is very slanted to fit with the more sloped racey front fairing, the S headlight is made more straight up, if that makes sense. The R's headlight is also wider and taller by a fraction. They take the same bulbs though.
The part number is stamped on the black plastic surround on the back of the headlight"
Hope that helps. _________________ Seven |
