Yeah, im going to use a hotter plug for sure but first the sparkplug hole that i messed up needs to be fixed.
sad to see a Tesi reduced to this:
but the good news is im porting and polishint the heads and installing the racing cams (i was going to wait till winter to do this, but hey, its not like i can ride the bike right now anyway) This thing will be insanely awesomely cool and fast!
I think i found the problem though... the valves were exceptionally tight.. very hard to spin the cams in the motor, actually a bit out of spec, so i will be adjusting that as well. _________________ Will stab for food! |

That all sounds like it needed to be done sooner rather then later. Late summer rides are the best ones and on a fresh engine, priceless. _________________ Pomps

Hi mouth, while you have your bike stripped down, might be worth having your alternator wire checked for damage, this is what i found when i removed the breather box.

ok, this is unexpected. got everything done. got the bike put back together, tried to start it and ONLY ONE FRICKIN CYLINDER GOING STILL????????!!!!!!
So I re-tried my troubleshooting and everything checked out. Except the ECU. Never even checked it. So I disconnected the power lines to the coils. verified power coming to the coils (the power is constant, the firing of the spark plugs is controlled by the grounding of the ground wires through the ECU). on the horizontal cylinder, 49K ohms standing still, and when the starter is pressed, it goes to ground then back to resistance (it does it very fast) and it repeats. on the vertical side, it just likes to stay at 49K ohms. it does change... it jumps up to 51k ohms. I rechecked the wiring to make sure nothing was wrong in the wiring. Its the ECU. ok. #$%$! I need help. an ECU for troubleshooting at least. Its a walbro. Any one else experience this?
IS ANYONE FROM BIMOTA LISTENING TO THIS??? PLEASE HELP!!!
Damn thing only has about 2500 miles on it.
I have never owned such a hanger queen in my life!!!
And I have built and restored 2 classic cars! _________________ Will stab for food! |

Have you tried Bob at Bimota Spirit? otherwise drop Alan an email info@fxpowersports.com.au let him know having issues, he's sold a few of them this year over here and talks to the Factory every other week, he should be able to help you out, really quite fantastic to deal with to be honest. |

sorry to hear about your problems, pity bimota didn't use the ducati ecu's which are easier to obtain and allow you a quick swop and see if the original ecu is faulty. I believe benelli and Aprilia use walbro, maybe you have a shop nearby who might have software to run a diagnostics check.
Am not much of a sparky haven't even got a wiring diagram for tesi, so hope mine doesn't give me grief.
On a separate issue, you might want to keep an eye on your stator, mine is toast. All three bolts have sheared and the loom is chewed Luckily housing and alt cover are undamaged and have got a low milage stator from an American breakers. Suspect the chrome bolts might be wrong type and have failed, as any i have seen in the past have been plain allen bolts and no tapered heads.
