Picked up my Yb yesterday from Devon, first time I have seen it and very happy. It has been stored by mate who runs a small workshop and works on all types of classics as well us modern tackle. He gave it a full service and had the carbs sonic cleaned to get them balanced and set. Cant wait to take it for a spin today, stand by for results...

Ah yes, sorry, forgot pictures. Crying or Very sad Will do better next time. So, sat astride the little beauty and first impressions are great. Typical wide flat Bim seat and natural drop down onto bars, feet tucked up and back nicely which means ground clearance should not be an issue. Started her up, warmed up with a gentle ride away from the workshop down some twisties .... managed 2 minutes before I had it howling to the 12 thou mark double checking the speedo is in miles? yes, ooops, sod it, keep going to test the suspension limits... Old and settled is the answer like a favourite armchair, knees scraping and whats that funny ache in my face? Grin muscle fatigue. This thing is the most fun I have had on a bike in years, very different to my Ducati's as you feel like you are doing 200 mph instead of the 130's but thats fine. The front brakes are very wooden so I am using rear brake to aid things and settle the suspension into the corners but thats fine to, just adjust to some old fashioned fun.

Everyone should have one, now where is that YB4 I now desperately need ... anyone? Wink Very Happy Very Happy

Just had the back end apart today to check it out and do some cleaning. Really simple rear tyre removal and bodywork. Nothing to it as with most Bims, makes you wonder why other makes are so complicated? Anyway, made it easier to get to the rear shock which is really tight to get to with its clothes on. As suspected the ride height was on its lowest setting so wound it out and up to 35 mm higher. Took her out and the handling felt much sharper if not a little soft but that has more to do with the spring then the damping. Its a 75kg spring which needs to be about 20 kg stronger! I'll suffer it til I get back from the Manx as I think I'll take the little YB, its much more comfortable if even it is smaller then most of my bikes. Lower pegs and shorter stretch helps I guess. Now where is that yb4 I need?
