Guys
I am missing a swingarm bolt! Sad
They look special! Sad
Any idea where I can find a replacement?
Can anyone sell me a replacement?
Any help or thoughts appreciated.
Og

Sorry, neither Crying or Very sad
What I can do for you is take all the dimensions of the one I've just taken apart if that's any help?
Just a thought, I could price up having a Ti spindle made and then sell you my standard spindle Wink

Reading the forum it occurs to me that the Ducatis look to have a lot of familiar parts. Will have a look. Idea
Oily, I assume the spindle comes with the two bolts? Very Happy

Chinese whispers at work.
I don't need a spindle, I need a bolt (and the black plastic frame cap that used to cover it)
Could be my terminology. Question
The swing arm is fixed to the base of the frame at the pivot point via a brass coloured bolt on either side. The bolts are under the black plastic frame caps. One is missing, presumably it fell off! Previous owner issue I suspect but too long ago to go there.
When I checked, remaining bolt on the other side was loose also. I reckon my Black/Red Bimota should bark its turning out to be such a dog this summer! Ho hum, I recall the wife told me not to buy a non red white one! Just found an oil leak! I thought the strange handling was under-inflated tyres, then I found I was missing a swingarm bolt, but maybe it was just the oil p**sing onto the rear tyre! You got to love these bikes! Razz

Not your terminology OG, it's me not reading the post properly Wink

At least you've got one bolt as a pattern. Shouldent be at all difficult for your local engineer to replicate. Hardest part would be the hexagonal recess for the allen key but you could have it with a hex head instead or many other designs.

Have you tried all the usual, European suppliers before you go to that much effort?
Keep us updated Wink

Or use an allen bolt.
The covers are just grommets measure the diameter and order a pair, might cost you nearly £6

Find me some 34mm blind grommets EC Wink

as for the allen bolt idea......it is a pretty complicated bolt but a m10 allen bolt and a machined washer might just do the trick Wink

...depends what level bodge your willing to accept Laughing
Nice stainless m10 socket head bolt. Stainless machined washer to suit and probably a better solution than Bimota's Wink
Now I've talked myself into that...how much are you willing to pay OG? Laughing

stick a 38mm in it ... 34mm is 1 3/8 inch

but

http://www.motorcyclefasteners.co.uk/Motorcycle-Frame-Plugs.html these are rigid which isn't so great cos they stick out a little at the top where the frame changes shape

If there's a demand I can get some made up.

Should I buy the 35mm or the 38mm? Anything will be better than two holes in the frame?
Og Question Smile

The hole in the Mk 1 frame is 33mm so 38 seems a bit big to me Wink

If you can wait a couple of days, I'll knock a couple up Wink

I'm thinking i can make the washer/spacer out of aluminium and it's going to be lighter than the original which would be great for my new project Wink
