Yeah Brian needs a polish
You can hardly see Vince's it's so shiny
Yes my fuses are 20 15 15 10 20 so I guess the first 20 might have been to try and stop the fuses popping by a previous owner _________________ Hursty from kiwi land |

So many days
And nights
Have passed since I dropped my bike off with my mechanic
Finally he has stopped rebuilding his race bike and started on mine
Because I am fitting new brake pads I have decided to change the fluids
As they are looking pretty yuk
and as often happens in the workshop it has been suggested that I replace the front brake lines so that has been added to the list as they are not how he (who knows) would have them.
Air filter is looking a bit grubby after 5000ks
The pipe is now off here is a better pic of the split on the weld that needs fixing.
And the leaking header hose turns out to be the rubber seal on the radiator cap not sealing properly, I believe these are a hard to source part? (especially in NZ ) so we will attempt to replace the rubber
So hopefully over the next week things will progress and no more surprises will appear _________________ Hursty from kiwi land |

It's a good idea to change the brake lines. Finally found the water leak, that's good _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Your radiator cap looks different from mine, ….. Not only mine is more shiny but the centre of the cap is different. _________________ vince

Its wet and windy down here at the moment so no real rush
but my new Brembo pads have arrived, this is what they recommended any body used these?
Apart from that we have measured up for the new front brake lines
So the body work is all clean sitting in my garage and the rest is still on the mechanics bench
I was looking at the pics of evil chickens clutch and noticed mine is different so must have been modified at some point
Current thinking is that he will replace the leaking radiator cap and neck with a GSXR1000 item _________________ Hursty from kiwi land |

Doubt you need to do the rear pads
Not sure what's in my front calipers _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

My rear pads chatter and squeal when they get hot. Don't use the rear much anyway. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

So out with the old lines
And in with the new
Rear pads were gone
but the fronts had a bit left in them but changed them anyway
Progress is slow but its cold here now so plenty of time

Picked up a new front tyre before I went away on business and the matching rear should have been delivered by now
Decided that the best fix for the old radiator cap is to get the radiator neck re made with a standard cap as no one could supply one (just like everywhere else in the world) But I did try and try and try.....
So the new one should be ready this week and I can move on with the work. _________________ Hursty from kiwi land |

I'm running Michilin Power 3's on my sb6 at the moment and find them quite good. My bike had a 120-60-17 on the front so i replaced it with the same... I see yours is a 120-70-17. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

I have a 120-70-17 Supercorsa Diablo ... you need to space the mudguard a bit. In fact I need to sort that out a bit more after I did a track day I couldn't pull the bike backwards because the tyre jammed on the mudguard. Once I rode it back to the hotel it was fine _________________ Don't read everything you believe |
