Finally came up with the best solution to drop the back wheel out when the chain is to tight loop off the rear cog. Take the cog off the wheel while in place and the whole lot drops out quicker then a one legged man in an arse kicking contest. _________________ Pomps

Getting closer to the end of this project chaps. One benefit of some time off work...
To start things off here are a few before shots which is exactly how she was when I first took her clothes off. Bit sad and rusty with all the usual signs of age after miss spent youth. Tomorrow I'll take some after pics.

here are a few images to show work so far... I stripped, cleaned and resprayed the subframe and swing arm to the same colour as the main frame. It was as you can see from the before shots a much lighter alloy colour. All the nuts and bolts replaced with stainless, polished the rear sets and cleaned up anything I could. I stripped back the engine and resprayed it to without going to far so as to keep it with an appropriate patina as they say...

The rear shock came out great to. The spring was powder coated by a local firm and I sorted the rest with elbow grease and cleaner.

I got some fresh cable wrap for the adjuster which helped.
A few things to note. The exhaust system is a Ducati 900ss unit I am experimenting with to make it twin pipes. However I think I may use the old down pipes for the under seat original and have a custom build end can to stay hidden under the seat pointing out directly behind. To be decided. I also mocked up a seat support for the fibre glass body kit.

Oh yes... a glimpse of the hand held production for the paint scheme. Old school of course and waiting for some decals i am having made before the lacquer stage.

The stripes on the back wont look as bad once the seat and bum stop are in place and the final graphics are on. Hopefully! _________________ Pomps

I'll slap it back on the bike tomorrow to give you ( and me ) a better idea of how it will look. If it's not good I can just respray til happy. Once its right i will consider a pro doing it if it needs it. At least that way its just cost me a few spray tins to experiment. Fingers crossed. _________________ Pomps

..if i had to criticise something, and I really am nit picking, the number boards...being as it's round on the front, they should maybe round on the sides
....like I say...nit picking........

I wasn't sure about the light blue before- I thought it should be darker- but now it's all growing on me. A bit 'Gulf' even ?
Overall effect is very attractive and totally different to anything else on the road.
You mean you've stuck the 'agip' sticker on the back of the front mudguard : )) _________________ Bimota DB2 tricolore, Bimota YB4e.i, Ducati 851 tricolore, Ducati Hailwood Replica, 1968 Gitan Grillo sport, Yamaha GTS1000, Honda Deauville, Honda GB500 Clubman

"GULF"....there's a blast from the past Ian...
Are they still trading? Haven't seen a gulf fuel station for years or is it more...there's none around here? _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)
