I've just ordered a carbon fibre bellypan for my db4 from a supplier in greece. Bit of a gamble for me but am going to take a chance on the manufacturers word, he sounds genuine. I'll update on quality etc when i receive it in about 3 weeks or so. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Brian,
Please let us know how things go. I'd potentially be interested in a carbon fiber "suit" as well.
Thanks.

No worries Chuck, I'll give a report once i get it and see how the fit and quality etc is. This guy makes full db4 bodywork in carbon fibre or plastic. Plastic is obviously cheaper than the carbon. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

I have a set of fairings purchased from Greece and they are pretty good, you can still see the decal marks on them for the DB4 but thats an easy fix when prepping for paint. Got them from ebay and think I v'e posted the link on here somewhere The layup has been done by someone who does fibreglass boats so the matting is laid out properly keeping it strong and about the same thickness as the original. |

Logo's in the mould won't be a problem for me as I'm only getting the bellypan section. The rest of my fairing is in pretty good nick, just the bellypan is cracking up. It's been plastic welded by a previous owner but is cracking worse now. Still waiting for my carbon to turn up. Expecting it will be another couple weeks yet. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Well, i should have had the bellypan in 3 weeks from time of payment. It's now been 8 weeks and still waiting. Took a lot longer to make the part than was originally stated and then there was a mix up with shipping. Turns out it hadn't been sent. Now been sent and i should (hopefully) have it in a week or so. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

First impressions -
Very good packaging.
Finish is average.
Fit is going to be poor.
The 2 halves don't really fit together very well. Will see how it goes when i get new fasteners, drill the holes and bolt it together. I'll pull the original bellypan off tomorrow and compare the pieces.
I'll reserve my judgement on value for money until after i try to fit it. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |
