|
|
Just got back from a thrash across the mountain on the first sunny day that I've not been working or away here on the Rock... so nice..
Filled the SB6 up before putting it back in the workshop on the ramp (can you see where this is heading..?) for a clean up before winter....
Ran it for a little while with the fuel tap off... it was pretty hot... (no prizes for what happened next!)
A considerable amount of fuel ran out from the bottom of the fairing over the ramp and floor before I could get syphoning...
I now have a beautiful clean ramp and workshop floor, and a slight petrol taste on my lips...
I'm assuming the petrol expanded too much and made an escape for freedom through the overflow... and I overfilled it... and, well, time for a Hamlet moment (but not in the workshop!!! )
an expensive (expansive?) way to get an oil free ramp and floor... no thanks required for the tip! _________________ C'est moi! |

Yeah .... they do that !!!
When you fill the bike up don't brim it and don't do the petrol cap up straight away, leave it until you're ready to start the engine. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Funny...my first Mk1 did that on a regular basis but, as yet, I've not had this issue with any other SB6. Wonder if it is a servicing issue with the breather OR a dodgy batch of breathers _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)
