Daz

Very nice, but you've over done it with the T-cut - you've polished out your headlight. Laughing

Does your's have what Bimota referred to as pressurised float bowls i.e. the carb breathers plumbed into the lid of the airbox? If so, and not all of them seem to have had this, do you think it makes any difference. At the time they made great claims for this. But since they didn't do it to all of them I assume they changed their mind at some point.

My 6r originally had this system but I spent the best part of two years trying to get the bugger to run properly. Finally set it up in a "normal" configuration and.......wow, what an awesome tool.......no going back for me Wink

The float bowls need to be pressurised when running ram air, otherwise the pressure in the inlet tract of the carburettor will be greater than the pressure within the float bowl, so the fuel will not be drawn into the inlet, instead in will be pushed away from the jets etc. It works on all carb'd ram air fed bikes, it's a problem NOT to have them pressurised.

There are a few jobs to do on the 6R to get it to run well, but is worth the effort. Plenty of Dyno time has led me to a good set up, lots of slide drilling and f**k ups along the way, but not it fuels VERY well.

Hope this helps,

Daz.

And yes mate, it is well overdue. Just gotta find out if I can ride it now!!

Thanks for the feedback guys. I must say that prior to dissolving fuel tank problems, mine worked very well with it. But they definitely didn't do it to all of them. I guess if they were in a hurry to get them out the door for cash flow, it's something they could have not bothered with in the knowledge that with that fuel pump mucking everything up non-pressurised float bowls would be the least of your problems Sad

Thanks for the feedback guys. Mine was running fine with it, prior to dissolving fuel tank issues. Not sure why they didn't fit it to all of them, unless they needed to get some of them out sharpish for cash flow and thought that with the kind of headache the vacuum fuel pump was going to give the punter, non-pressurised float bowls would be the least of his problems Laughing

The vac fuel pump is not a difficult thing to get around, mine still has it's pump in place, no issues now at all. More of an issue is me throwing the bloody thing at the marshals, that really knocks the corners off them!

Are you saying the fuel pump can be persuaded to do something useful?
