Hi,

New to the site, and opening with a hopefully easy question.

Does anyone know the part numbers / specification for the front wheel bearings of an SB8R. Mine are rumbling a little and I'd like to change them.

This will be much easier if I can order them before hand, and hence complete the whole job in one go.

If anyone has rear bearing info that would be great as well.

Just in case anyone ever googles/searches for this question. Both sides of the front wheel are 6205-2RS bearings.

I got them for ~£5 each from ww.bearingshop.co.uk

at what k's would you change the bearings???

My bike is at ~7500Ks and front and rear bearings were very noisy. The mileage is very low, but the bike has no dust seals over the bearings and so a lot of dirt, grime and probably water from washing gets into the bearing.

The difference before and after is amazing. Spin the front wheel (without brake calipers) before and you might get a few rotations out of it. After changing the bearings it spins forever (well a long long time).

I'll take more care when washing it now, but I reckon that they probably have a life of about 5000Km's before you should consider changing them.

Of course if Bimota had used dust seals, they would have lasted a long time.

i tried getting some bearings from those numbers but they had no idea>>>

The part numbers of the form "206010004" are I presume Bimota numbers and not something a bearing supplier could use.

The bearing numbers (and all bearing manufacturers uses the same numbers to indicate size) are

6205-2RS front wheel
6006-2RS sprocket carrier
60/28-2RS rear wheel

You need 2 of each.
