Just noticed there is a DB7 carbon for sale at www.pickles.com.au/
It is located at Welshpool, Western Australia. Bike is a repairable write off but damage doesn't look to bad in photos. Auction is scheduled for 28/11/12. |

Does it have much damage? Did your insurance company give you the option to purchase the bike? Any idea on cost to repair? |

I did get the chance to buy it back but it didn't make sense financially. I believe the repair bill was around $55k excluding the labour involved to strip down to frame, remove and refix new upper carbon section of frame. Not something anyone could do. Only people here in WA I would have been happy doing the work was Pro Twin who are pretty much the best with Ducati and other high end bikes.
Whilst the damage might not look to bad, the upper carbon frame needs replacing, along with most of the tank and fairing panels, with them being bare carbon and and clear coated the finish would never be as good as new and bike was less than 6 months old. I could go through everything but it would take a while to list and I'd probably end up missing a few things. |
