Hi there,

I have a small question and hopefully someone has a minute spare.
My bike is currently at the bike store for the winter so i am not able to see her anymore untill march.
the exhaust which is under the 6R is more than perfect except one thing and that is that it is not made from carbon fiber.
Now i know there are some carbon fiber sleeves which you can apply on your current muffler.
I have one issue and that is i do not know the sizes of the cans.
Now i am wondering if someone from the forum wants to measure his can of the sb6 and place this on the forum so i can find the right one this winter.
Looking forward to any input.

Regards johan

I've thought of doing that myself. I'll measure the cans, if I get time, later Wink

The O.D of the sleeve is...100mm
the total length of the sleeve is...395mm

Let me know when you've found the right stuff Johan Wink

...Sorry....those dimensions are for the standard 6R cans:wink:

The SB6 are NOT the same, they have a taper halfway down. I'm looking into having carbon sleeves made for the SB6 if there is a demand...???

Thanx for the input, because you have all the 6's in your barn.
Do you also know the sizes of the sb6 mufflers ( if i am right informed my 6R has sb6 mufflers instead of the bigger 6R types).
If i found the right ones i will add the link on this topic so any interested one can copy-paste it Very Happy

Yours have certainly got NON-Bimota end-caps.
6 and 6R are totally different and very easy to tell apart....
6R has a parallel tube type silencer where a SB6 silencer tapers down to a smaller diameter for the last third or so of the length Wink
This is why I may look into having carbon sleeves made for the SB6 as they won't be on the shelf any where I suspect Wink

I think i just have 6R silencers with modified end caps. Or does anyone have a different opinion?

I think you have SB6 pipes with 6R sleeves, maybe not even that but straight sleeves and made up tail pipes. Bim tail pipes are rolled on the end

They look to short for bim items and have had the end caps extended to clear the tail. If they work well with the engine I think they look fine.
