Hi, from sunny Lancshire, the name is Colin and although not a Bimota owner, would like to 'pick your brains' A friend has a DB2 that he has owned since 96 and has only 5600 miles on from new. In 98 decided to look for a bit more 'oomph' and went down the 944 route, cosworth pistons, ceramic bores, fcr39s, sports motorcycles worked the valves/porting, had a stainless 54mm system made with carbon cans, kept with standard cams. The motor has done less than 400 miles since work completed. All in all probably spent around £5k (with all ancillaries, titanium fasteners etc), all suspension reworked by Maxton.
Now the interesting/sad bit, last rode almost ten years ago, while out on a run, one of his mates was fatally injured and bike was put under a dust sheet and left............
The bike needs restoring, engine re-commisioning ie belts, (had new belts when work done) new battery, oil, tyres, pads and frame badly faded, bodywork although in good condition ideally needs repainting, he was talking of posting on fleabay but as he has little time/inclination I said would post elsewhere to check for interest, would have it myself but wife muttered something about 9" grinder and body parts....bless.
Looking to move it fairly quickly, offers around £3500, would this be realistic??
Cheers

sound a bit steep mate if it needs that amount of work full service on the motor will set you in around £600 . and how is the bodywork ? do you have any pics ? _________________ so many toys so little time |

has full fairing, can't post pics 'til weekend, still can't make my mind up myself, if can sell dirtbike quick may have a go.
£600 seems fairly expensive, realise belt going to cost, as was considering going for a superlight.
The bodywork is very good with no damage, just generally 'tired'
Would benefit from general 'loving' |
