I'd better go and visit him...maybe this afternoon as I need to know what individual filters he's using because I'm struggling to find any that fit the SB6 Crying or Very sad

And Oily….. you already know what doochatee sidestand it is Question

Nope, He doesn't know, I don't know Crying or Very sad
The whole geometry of his bike is totally different to a standard six so probably not much use anyway Wink

...Plus....he's running open carbs so I didn't learn anything about filters either Wink
Think I may have found K & N duel pods that will fit so after a spell on the dyno....we'll see Neutral

I'm taking my stand to see the guy who does all my CNC maching, he makes the cam chain tensioners and parts I sell, to see if he can make a batch of 'blanks' so to speak. He can machine the pivot end, and the pocket for the spring/ball bearing, and just leave them over long, say 3 inches or so, so I can just finish them to length and weld the foot on to them. Hopefully they'll be cheaper than me maching them all manually, and follow the Bimota vein a little more too as the machined finish will be perfect.

The holiday period may hold us up slightly but will do my best to get a price out of him today so we can work from there.

Sorry for the delays guys, work kinda getting in the way but is not forgotten, I'll update as soon as I know more.

Daz.

Not at all Rob, enjoyed you swinging by, kettle is always warm if you're in the area.

OK, I had to leave the stand with my machinist friend, as he was tied up with another customer, so I'll update you guys as soon as I know more when he gets back to me.

OK, finally got the CNC guy nailed to his chair to price these up. He'll do us a batch of stands, so all the maching at the pivot end done and finished, and the other end left long. The stands can either be finished by whoever buys them, or I can get them done to a length, again given by the purchaser. He's wanting £60/stand for the 'blanks' if 10 are done, which is cheaper than I'd hoped so good news there in my eyes. So they'd be available at the £60/stand to the 1st 10 guys who want them, if we go ahead. Sure I can make the foot bigger if people want me to finish them off, but that will of course add to the £60.

What's your thoughts guys? Using my original SB6-R stand as the one to copy.

Daz.

They willl be made from one piece of 6082 aircraft aluminiun, so the stand will be solid, not tube, and the foot can be attached either way, if you'd prefer it bolted, the end can be cut at the required angle, drilled and tapped, so use a countersunk bolt to attach the foot with, or it can be welded, that would be to the preference of the buyer. Cost either way would be the same too I'd guess.
