|
|
Been thinking of amking a few changes to the yb9 before spring and I am unsure what way to go.......
Either a new paint job with a few small mods or....
I have been experiencing a bit of discomfort due to my body decaying around me. I really fancy a DB6r for the riding position but can't afford it so.....It occurred to me maybe I could streetfighter it while I still have all intact bodywork to retain and possibly replace later......
I know to do a good job could be quite expensive but I still am thinking of it.
My query is has anybody seen a well done example and ideally have you any pics or links to parts suppliers?
Or am I mad? |

...No not mad
while I totally enjoy riding my SB6's I probably spend 50% of the time riding my fightered 6R these days . The riding position is excellent and being as I spend not a lot of time above a ton these days, there is no issue with aerodynamics. Much better view ahead, better slow speed control in traffic etc......I can think of loads of reasons to do it but mainly you'll be turning a very rare bike into a unique bike that will still be used

A well done example of a streetfighter ... can't say I've seen that on any bike.
You probably be better off getting the old shape 600 Fazer, they have a similar engine to the YB9 although it's a longer stoke smaller bore _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

...Certainly not an excellent example but shows you can get high bars on one

...It'll certainly be worth the effort if you enjoy riding it more _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)

I seem to be hi-jacking my own thread here......
but I have started so I will finish.........
just a small collection of pics from a proper fighter build

now, that is a streetfighter in any mans language.
This is what I got to start with but no talent and even less money so what I can do is well limited.
Any suggestions etc appreciated |

...Wow.....
An awful lot of time and effort has gone into that. An almost built from scratch bike. I can imagine this is how the early Bimota's were designed and built.
Although I'm a big fan of well built fighters and I appreciate the skills, effort and money that's gone into it.....................................
............not sure I like the final looks of this particular effort:cry:
Good job we're all different _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)
