went to view this bike today, as it's fairly local to me. It has what looks to be a late model Gixxer headlamp unit grafted into the fairing (shouldn't it have TLS lights?) and clocks from a Gixxer too. There is a broken section of plastic on the belly pan, which also looks like it's been painted on that side. The mirrors had indicators in them (is this correct?)
It's a 2 owner bike (the first being from outside the UK) and is HPI clear. Guy at shop said it had covered "about" 6000 miles.
Question I would like to ask is - what is this bikes true value? It's not easy to look on evil-bay and see what the last 10 SB8R's sold for, but I have read on here that someone had one for sale in January at £6999 or offers.
I must admit that having seen one "in the flesh", I have am tempted to buy one of these instead of an SB6, as I used to own a TLS back in '98.
Your advice would be much appreciated.

Garry.

My only worry with that one is why paint all the carbon ? it looks like its been in a smash and put back together with other parts .
the thing with bimotas to keep the price they sould be fairly standard
like mine Very Happy

i still have it lots of silly offers but no buyers so its back in to the shed as i now have the DB2 to play with

The mirrors are non-standard, they are MVF4.

Wonder how much the ignition has been customised if he has spent all that on paint etc.

lol there is the worried face of the owner in the mirror on pic 3.

Looks like he's copied the styling of the Santa Monica, but of course the Santa Monica is an SB8K with totally different bodywork etc (a lot easier to remove) and looks quite different.

had another look at this bike - the headlight unit fits the fairing perfectly so is this a standard SB8R fairing modified to take the GSX-R light or is there an aftermarket fairing that accepts this light? Not sure why the clocks were changed, and the shop won't let me talk directly to the guy they are trying to sell it for.
So it's a no-no for me - I'm off to see the new SB6 that's for sale in Malton instead.

Garry.
