Hi Keith, I am presuming this is one from the Stafford Show as several new ones were sold still in Boxws. A fellow from the Ducati Manchester Club told me of some unregistered ones that were sold at the recent Mcr Bike show we were at. Would be glad to help as am pretty darn familiar with DVLA registration and havent had any issues so far in registering imports or bikes without plates, PM me email or phone number and I can talk you through the process. Evidently the Bible helps or a copy of the relevant pages that states what frame numbers were made in what years. DVLA just want to ensure they dont give you a number plate thats newer than the actual age of the bike...as thats their concern, Shouldnt be as car manufacturers do it all the time, 6 year old cars lying in fields, registered as new when sold, etc etc...Many ways of convincing them if needed I'll guide you through |

Contact Stuart at North Leicester Motorcycles - they provided a dating certificate for my Tesi for £20.
Stuarts son used to work for Bimota, so knows the bikes well. _________________ Bimota SB6 and Benelli TNT 899S road bikes.

Hi Keith
I have a letter from an importer confirming that a 6R with the chassis number 499 was built before May 1998. If your bike has an earlier chassis number they might accept my letter. The letter is also stamped by DVLA Sheffield.
By the way, congratulations on buying the best Bimota _________________ What, Jonny's gone! |

Contact the Bimota factory with your frame number and they can give you the build date.
I had to do that for the soon-to-be-mine YB8. |

Is someone still manufacturing these in a shed somewhere
'New' 6R's seem to keep appearing! Did they all sell at Stafford - who was selling them and what type of price? _________________ Now - SB6R, GSX1400, KTM 990 SuperDuke
