It’s possible to install zx9r preload-adjusters in the Paioli. Smile

The only thing you have to do is make some changes to the zx9r preload adjusters
And as well exchange the Paioli spring with the zx9r spring with its spacers (see pics).

A how to will follow (when I have a little more time). Wink

The pre-settings of the suspension ……..That’s what I have to find out when the Bim is finished. Question

If you have the intension to do this modification, find yourself a pair of crashed zx9r forks.
Then you have all the parts you need..... probably for a very reasonable prize. Wink

Interesting idea.
Got me thinking, Would preload adjesters off other 46mm forks fit.
I think some of the ZXR600 had 46mm forks. Also the SV1000 and the GSXR600 share the same 46mm forks.

Hmmmmmmmm... Question

...Well done Vince, I'm still struggling with the re-bound adjuster. Laughing
This should also be possible keeping the Paioli spring Wink

Yes it is……1,2kg lighter total on both forks. Rolling Eyes

The zx9r spring feels harder to compress.

That figures - if you say the bikes have a conprable wiegth then the XR9 springs have less material and a steeper angle on the windings.

The ZX9R is roughly 7kg lighter than the SB6 Shocked
We don't know where those extra 7kg's are situated but it's a fair bet some of it will be on the front end so a lithium battery and carbon wheels should take care of that.......
So maybe the ZX9 fork springs are the way to go....if they can be set up and made to work Wink

The stock ZX-9R spring rate should be lighter (softer) than the stock SB6 rate.

The zx9r spring feels harder than the Paioli spring when I compare them.
The way I compare the springs was just by feel the strength in my arms and that isn’t a scientifically proven experiment. Wink

Maybe if some one is doing this modification …(Oily)… can compare the springs.
Place a weight on the spring, measure the spring, place the same weight on the other spring and measure again… than we know what spring is the softer one.

Or maybe my Paioli spring has some fatigue problems…. Or the zx9r spring isn’t original
Or…..damned…now I have more questions…… Question Question

Thanks guys… now I can not enjoy my free day with all those questions in my head… Sad
