Since when did "skint" stop you spending money on bikes?

Oily
I salute you, that is indeed a man's project you are contemplating there. All 6 owners, put your paws in your pockets to support Oily's endeavour.
Once you've honed your structural carbon skills on fairings for the pretty bike, you'll doubtless want to knock some out for its ugly sister, at which point you can chalk me up for a set. _________________ What, Jonny's gone! |

Carbon mirrors with longer stems would be more commercial. You can put a plug in the mold and make ducati style ones, they'll sell to a much bigger market. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Your right EC but this quite obviously is not a commercial venture, this is a project
I'll look at mirrors at the same maybe but we'll see _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)

Not sure it would weigh much less than standard. You'll need more than a single skin of carbon and that's usually glass fiber though ghr original has some Kevlar so its strong and flexible. Carbon would probably break a lot faster than the standard stuff too. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

It's not really about being negative I'm just wondering where the improvement would be.
When I got a second tail unit from an SB7 the SB6 plate hanger / mudgaurd didn't fit properly _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

..Well if you don't know.....
Yes it would need more than one skin....but 20 layers would still be lighter than the original _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)

Yeahbut - The 20 layers won't just be carbon. The original bodywork for what it is, isn't particularly heavy.
I guess your going to section the fairing huh ??? _________________ Don't read everything you believe |
