correct, it's a Dec 89, so the last of the H1's
in the UK a 'G' registration was from Aug 89 to Jul 90, it's changed a few times since then! _________________ 03 YB11, 03 Aprilia RSVR Edwards, 94 Ducati Superlight III, 95 Honda NC30, 04 Ducati 999S, 91 kawasaki KR1-S C2, 91 Ducati 851 USD Strada, 89 ZXR750H1, 90 ZXR400H1, 205 16v Rally Car, A6 2.7TDI Avant, STM R1 engined Phoenix |

Cool. I had a green H1 years ago. Loved that bike, never should have sold it. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Well i'm back from my holiday and picked up the new (new to me) ZXR from Melbourne. I was going to strip the good bits off it and build my ZXR into a track bike, but I can't stand to leave a bike stripped for parts. So I've now decided to rebuild the ex-race ZXR and use it as my track bike and leave my ZXR as a road bike. I'll probably put a single seat rear end on it and register it as a single seater, as it's much cheaper rego here for single rather than pillion. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

I haven't had a real good look at the ex-race ZXR as yet but it looks to be straight and has no evidence of damage. Still a fair bit to do on it before it's track ready. Currently chasing a few parts, rearsets, throttle, switchgear, bodywork etc. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

I'm slowly moving along with the track bike project. I picked up a second hand throttle assy, cables and r/h switch gear from a wrecked ZX10R. Took a bit of modifying to get them to fit and work. Also bought a set of sweet looking rear sets from a nice bloke in Canada, but they may have been lost in the mail as i haven't received them yet .
My latest and best score to date is the bodywork that i bought. Ex TKA (Team Kawasaki Australia race team) full carbon fibre fairing and carbon fibre tank including all the ally brackets and ally race rear subframe. This stuff is super rare so i just couldn't pass it up. Well... it's rare for a mere mortal like me (with no race contacts) to find this stuff.
This is the bodywork

hat does look wonderful Brian...still hankering after that Old H1 kick from 20 odd years ago.....sort of have a space in the garage so maybe I'll start looking.....kid myself it would be nice to have a bike I'd not care so much about...but I would be kidding myself.....Is the engine tricked out in the ex Track bike? or just bigger carbs? |
