Is the engine tricked out in the ex Track bike? or just bigger carbs?

The race engine was blown up by a previous owner and a stocker bolted in. I asked if the blown race engine was still around but alas it's long gone. I was hoping to salvage cams etc. Yes, i think these FCR41's came offf the race engine and i'm worried now that the carbs will be too big for the stock donk. I'm told that these carbs came standard on the later model 96+ ZX7RR, so hopefully i can get them to work. With the full Yoshi race system and a lot of tuning hopefully it will run good enough until i can spend sme money on the engine. I know nothing about flatslides so i'm going in with an open mind and will see how i go.

Some other nice bits that i picked up also from the bodywork donor.

Race wiring loom, carbon fibre battery box, Dynatek adjustable digital ignition, aluminium alternator blockoff plate.

I've decided to go with total loss electrics on this one. But I'm going to leave the starter motor in as i don't fancy push starting the bike or having to buy start rollers.

Be sure to carry extra fuel if you fot Keihin FCR 41's....same as on my DB2 and I had a bank of them on the YB11....Wonderful carbs but need a tanker behind you to keep them fueled....Db2 does at best 25mpg if cracking it on somewhat...even the Vdue nearly makes that... Laughing

Yeah i'm guessing they'll like a drink. I've got a 1 ltr sauce bottle turned upside down to use as a fuel tank while i've got the real tank off. I had it runnig and thought it must have been running out the bottom... the fuel disappeared pretty quick Very Happy . Just hope i can get them tuned to run ok on a stock 750

Fuel economy won't be a priority for me if i can get this thing working. It won't be registered and will probably only see a track 2 or 3 times a year as the nearest track to me is 1000 klm away Crying or Very sad

Just picked up an old full Micron race system for my k1. Going to find time to fit it this week. Then MOT time and first proper run out. Cant wait. If all ok then its off to the paint shop, single endurance light and Team France colours for the spring.

Will do. I have 41's on mine. The exhaust is in good shape but needs a good polish up. Nearly sold it the other week, but the old seller remorse cut in and I withdrew it from sale. Glad I did, getting better at second guessing myself when it comes to selling bikes. It also means I am not buying anymore but thats fine to. Just going to take care of the stable I have. Wink

Well I do have another place with a big garage....but its an hours drive away and I like to have my babies close to me.....Unfortunately in Good Ol Blighty theres not many small places with big sheds....small place means small space...only big places have big sheds....we are but a tiny island with barely space for a rabbit to run around let alone millions of marsupials....

New rearsets turned up yesterday. Bought these off a bloke in Canada 3 months ago, i thought they must have been lost in the mail.

They're very good quality and are super light!
