Hello,
Can anyone advise whether they’ve experienced fuelling problems with a Bimota SB6R please?
Has anyone encountered sporadic running problems, i.e running fine one day and the next, the complete opposite!
Many thanks.
Regards. Dusty

Could be the fuel turning if jelly if you leave bike to stand for a while. This happens on my sb6r if left for a while. All i do is a 20 mile journey and the carbs clean themselves out. There is a carb cleaner you can use but this means you then have to drain the carbs and fuel tank. Hope this helps. John.

Many thanks for your reply John. Having checked all things though, fuel is never less than 2 weeks old (only half filled at any one time) so I can only assume now I've run the bike with a donor tank, that it's breathing problems. I may decide to replace the torturous airbox arrangement with K&N's. B regards Ian

Quick thought.........
Has the fuel pump been bypassed?
Tried to run mine without the pump and experienced very sporadic running.
The mechanical pump has the problem of overfueling on the over run and on tick over. The cure for this is to bypass the pump or fit a return pipe from one side of the pump to the other. neither worked for me.
A few people say that it will run fine without the pump
Mine won't
As the fuel level in the tank get's lower, the more erratic it runs which is probably why Bimota fitted a pump Idea
My solution is to fit an electric pump in the next few days Wink
I'll let you know how I get on

OR you could sell me you bike as a non runner Laughing
