C'mon guys, page two already and only one person (cheers Steve) has come up with anything.
I really could do with some help on this one as I've never seen this mod in the flesh.
Any pictures or links would be a great help.
In return, I'll take loads of pictures as this project progresses.

There was a Corse SB6, advertised on a Japanese web site last year, the business specialised in exotic bikes, i can't remember the business name at the moment. If anyone knows the site i mean, you may find more information there.

They had a stunning SB6 for sale with Corse fairing, the fairing was a 3 piece so maybe research those.

I looked into importing the bike in to Australia, but it was a no go. It had forged Marchesini's, corse exhaust and fairing, titanium everywhere. There may be some pics somewhere on the net.

Just watches in general, nothing over the top..

I have a liking for mechanical watches. I have 2 mechanical watches, a TAG and a Fortis. I bought a Kinetic Seiko as my knock around watch, it doesn't mind the vibrations on the bike Very Happy And i have a Longines dress watch, that hardly ever gets worn.

What can you tell me about the wheels?

Are they specific to the SB6? I asked this question a while back and didn't get much of a reply. I assume the originals would be a widely available rim of the time, GSXR CBR, etc, i can't see Bimota creating a custom wheel, when they used donor switch gear etc.

You will have to post a few pics. I had my original Marchesini's polished a while ago, and now i am not to sure it was a good idea. A lot of material was removed to polish them, at my last track day i was worried about having a wheel failure Shocked Probably irational, but at 200+kph braking for a 60kph corner, you don't need to be thinking about stuff Laughing

Hey Steve , the race life of those wheels is fairly short, even for road use they are only supposed to last a couple of years. That is a non starter for most of use but it may be worth getting them checked out for stress cracks to ease your mind. At least you are using it on the race track where it should be! I have never seen a UK sb6 without Marchi's on them?

Yeah, I spotted you on another bike forum with your Seiko Kinetic. Got the Rolex, Longines, Briteling thing out of my system years ago and ended up with a collection of 20+ Seiko divers (Mostly Vintage).

Any how, Wheels.......
My SB6 came fitted with the Marchesini's which were from a Levarda and fitted straight on (also came with the original, as new, Antera's).
My first SB6 came fitted with H section, 3 spoke wheels which I thought were early Dymags or a very good copy.
The later SB6's came with Antera's
I don't think any came with Marchesini's as standerd.
IMO, as much as I love polished wheels, it's not a good idea to polish magnesium wheels as magnisium degrades in air at a rapid rate. Get a good cote of laqure on them and they should be alright.
As for removing a fair bit of metal.....reducing weight is always a good thing but not at the cost of strength.
I've never seen a SB6 come as standard, with a widely available rim of the time and if Gsxr or somthing would fit, it would be a backward step as they are quite heavy and the object of the exercise is to reduce unsprung weight and revolving mass.
I think your only option is to buy a set of carbon Dymags and swap them with my spare Antera's

I've never seen a SB6 with Marchesini's on, fitted AS STANDARD

Hi Guys,

In the Giorgio Satri book, you will read about the 3 spoke factory fitted Marchesini's.

"A second batch of SB6's, marketed beginning in 1995, presents these modifications: rear bodyshell reinforced with 3 layers of carbon fibre and sheathed on the interior with heat reflecting material, reinforced muffler supports, new Marchesini wheels, instruments with easier to read scales, carbon fibre dashboard"

The Marchesini's are hollow rounded 3 spoke wheels.

I have spent the last 2 days detailing the bike. There is a bike show on over here on Sunday. "The Festival of Italian Motorcycles" http://www.foim.asn.au/

So i will take some pics and post them, last time i went, a couple of other Bimotas turned up, A YB8, SB6R and a Mantra.

Glad to see your flying the Bimota flag amongst all that other Italian rubbish Laughing
