OhBoyOhBoyOhBoy!!!!!!!
A nice fellow in Italy is sending me a new alloy tank! He is the one who advertised a frame, subframe and ally tank in the classifieds here! I just sent him moneys through paypal, so now it is just the waiting!
3 more weeks until the cast comes off of my left hand......... _________________ Spike C.

Thats great stuff spike...and very fortuotous that the same fellow advertising it on Subito has found his way to the forum to also advertise it.......would be nice to have an alloy tank also...as mine has grown somewhat...so the intention is a complete drain down and leave dry and open for a few months to see if it shrinks back again........ |

Holy moly! One week from Italy to my house using Posta Italiano, the cheapest shipper! It took me a half an hour to unpack it, he sprayed foam insulation around the tank and it bonded to the cardboard box!

Spike, if you decide to pain it... be sure to paint with lack final coat also around the hole, otherwise gasoline will start to melt the paint. Congratulations!!! _________________ Bimota DB7, Bimota DB5 Mille, Ducati 916, Ducati M900, Benelli Tornado Tre |

I put the 2 tanks on a scale, and the plastic one weighs 9 1/2 #, the ally one is 6#! 3 1/2 pounds off of the top of the bike! And with the thinner walls this should provide that elusive liter of capacity that some spec sheets specify. _________________ Spike C.

That a good weight saving, I recently swapped over the standard tank and the carbon one on the DB7 and weighted they both, standard came in at 4700 grams and the carbon around 2700 (only thing I had handy was kitchen scales. |

I do believe that he has sold what he had available. Is there something else that you need to contact him for?
I could give him your contact info, but I am reluctant to give out his info without his permission. _________________ Spike C.
