Well..if its the "carbie" models...i.e. the single seat tricolor...its been suggested around 100 of them...as it was at the time when they went Bankrupt and old stock was sold off...as they never finished their production run of them...I've seen more spare frames, swingarms and bodywork for sale than I have Db4 tricolors...one of the rarer Bimotas for sure........
Swiss Bimota register says 264...but maybe that was the intention.......

May be one of those things we will never know the answer to. I know of 2 tri-colours in Australia fish but i'm sure there's more. One in my shed and one was for sale recently not too far from me. I also know of a Corse special version that had been crashed and i believe sold last year as a 'repairable writeoff' in NSW. There was also a brand new, never ridden db4ie that Raider Motorsport imported a couple years ago. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

I don't think the db4 was ever officially imported to Australia. Mine was definately a private import.
Are you looking at one fish? _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Somewhere I remember a figure that in total of 264 db4's were ever produced (tricolore up to the ie). Would have to do some research where I did find that.
........ now I read the previous posts: yes it was the Swiss register. But how much tricolores? You should try and find the one with the highest serial number. Mine's #59. Anybody else has a higher one? _________________ Track riding on a Bimota: FUN! |

As you can see from the register...the tricolors number from 002 to 212...with i.e's and tricolors filing in inbetween...not unusual for Bimota...no real sequence of frame numbers between certain models.... |

Yes... it's nice to have a reference for when you pull one apart and can't remember where all the bits go . I'd be satisfied with just 1 of each model. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |
