Hello all,
does anyone know where I can obtain a Paioli vacuum fuel tap as fitted to the DB1? Have any other bikes been fitted with this type? It has PR1 cast into the back of it,
Cheers, MikeJ |

Is it a vacuum tap or a vacuum pump? My db4 has a vacuum pump on it that I originally thought was a tap. Does it look like this?

Hello Brian,
I think it's just a vacuum tap from the look of it but thanks for the reply,

Hi mike my sb6 has a paoli vacume tap which gave me trouble so I put on a ducati desmo tap which bolted straight on and I access by over the rear suspension under the body work.I don't know if it is possible due to the body work on a db1 but I will check out when I go home. The past owner of my db1 suggested a in line electric tap. This may sound silly but I always smell for fuel prior to starting as he had fire with my bike.my db2 has a manual tap as well which I acsses the same way which is standard on the bike and is paoli cheers craig _________________ DB1-DB2SR-DB2EF-DB3-DB4 Db10 YB6-yb7_yb10-2xyb11-SB5,2xSB6-kb3-yb5-MILLE MIKEHAILWOOD HARRIS MAGMAN2-TRIUMPH T140-RG500x2-KAWA Z900-SUZUKI GSX1100-DUCATI 900SS- 750 sport ducati DUCATI F1 750- 851 tri colour-500sl-1996 Trumph datona . If it is the same as mine I purchased 2 from bevel heaven. They still have one listed on the site, not cheap though. It is the same tap fitted to the Ducati 750F1-S. |

I think we're all struggling to know what it looks Like mike.....Db1's arent lying around underneath everyones couches...(unlike Monty Cats....)
As far as mine goes...and as with the reverse cylinder 750 Pantah engines...the carbs are split...one behind each clylinder...and thus have 2 feeds from the petrol tap...or at least mine does...but whether that means its original or not...dont know...mines an early early Db1 with ally petrol tank and ally crank case breather and not plastic
and a Zoom in....
Have you tried the boys at Mdina Italia? Tel 0845 680 9005
www.mdinaitalia.co.uk or email mdinaitalia@gmail.com
this is their Wepage which has fuel taps and Vaccum fuel taps also...they specialise in all older Italian stuff

Hello folks,
thanks for the replies (and the piccies, Steve) . I think I've found a similar tap to fit a V35, V75 Guzzi . It has two outlet spigots so I think one will be redundant but I can always blank it off or run it to the opposite feed as a back up. It looks just like the one on your bike, Steve, so it looks like a standard fitment. I've made up a couple of experimental air filters with integral flame traps for mine as the space for even K&Ns is a bit limited.
Cheers, MikeJ
P.S. Monty's still as bonkers as ever and doesn't seem to stop moulting at the moment. |
