What's up Vince
Have you polished it so much it's out of spec?
Or is it just not perfect like the rest of your bike _________________ Hursty from kiwi land |

Hursty, You have a very good judgement.
It’s true, it’s not that the axle is broken or badly damaged.
But my bike didn’t give any problems or things to solve so I was looking for small things or annoying things. And they promise me that when you buy a Bimota you will always be busy with maintenance. So not true …
The story with that axle is: after I adjusted the chain and torqued the axel is was slightly of alignment.
Only seen when is checked with a laser … (I know I know it’s a bit over the top).
And also with installing the axle I found that I need to use much force. From experience it has to go smooth.
So this winter period I take a closer look at all the parts that are involved with chain adjustment and I found that the rear axle is slightly bend and the chrome layer is blistering. That’s why I want a new axle.
And maybe the problem isn’t a new axle … I’m in need for a new Bimota to modified again to satisfied my needs … maybe a DB this time.
Only my wife thinks I’m in need of psychiatric help. she let me not buy a other Bimota.
And what about you, I was hoping to see this winter pictures of your bike in kiwi-land panorama.
What’s wrong, No time to ride your Bim? _________________ vince

There is this new one on Ebay....a titanium Corse one...steep at 349 eruos...but was 699 New...I know that this ebay dealer sometimes takes offers..........

Oh...if you find a Sb6 rear spindle...may be best to renew your wheel bearings also...if the old spindle was bent then the bearings may have had a hard life in dealing with the wheel not running true......The Cush drive also has a couple of bearings in it...all should have numbers on the outer face and easy enough to locate replacements

You could probably get one made, it could be cheaper and better than an original. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Hi Steve,
The axle on EBay is a front axle. And to expensive.
It’s good you mention the bearings, I was in doubt about the bearings.
I had already inspect them and they look fine, but as you say they had a hard life and it’s easy to find new ones and to replace. Better safe than sorry.
Thanks, my doubt is gone. _________________ vince
