Currently standing on ebay at some 4600 GBP with reserve met.........be careful when clicking on the link...the colour scheme may make you violently ill..........
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Bimota-Ducati-DB1-DB-1-453-gebauten-Stueck-/111308543917
and heres a translation of the german text after my comments, other than paint this does appear to be an extremely original bike...a mark 1...and underneath the clothes not bad condition at all...speedo drive should be on the right as per the photos...but is routed wrong....seems to be original brakes, wheels suspension...even has the fibreglass cowling that wraps around the silencers under the footpegs....these bikes never came with mirrors...indicators are missing and really...you cant get replacements...but can always fit something "similar" only bits missing I can see are 2 No. flat head screw Dzus fittings at the rear of the belly pan both sides....Clocks are in Kms...but they never made a Miles version for UK or US anyhow....headlight may kick up wrong way but is an easy enough replacement, I even know where there are a standard black set of Bimota wheels for this bike with the still shiney ally rivets, thats if the florescent yellow isnt to your liking:-
"Here is the possibility of an extremely rare Bimota DB 1 in runnable state in the broadest original condition to acquire (except paint).
There were supposedly only produced 453 models of type DB 1, this is the number 181
First registration: 12.05.1986
Odometer reading: 14551 (read) Kms
Owners: not known; replacement in a letter holder.
I own the bike since 1995, but it never approved and am only about 100 Km total driven so The following points are made by me with original parts replaced (receipts available):
Instrument panel lights
Chain guard
Lock Set (2 keys provided)
Not original but new are:
Mirror
Rear fender
Horn
Stand wear parts:
Battery: new
Chain Kit: 1oo km but purchased and installed in 1995
Timing: 70 Km changed but 2000 (ATTENTION overaged)
Tires: 100 Km but bought and installed 1995 (ATTENTION overaged)
Valves set: 70 Km in 2000
Known defects:
No indicators present
No air filter available, original air filter system (brand new), there's this (very expensive!)
Paint not original (derived from the predecessor)
Seat cushion damaged, but I give a set of new seat cushion to have, however, suffered from the long storage also.
Div. Wear on the paint of the trim, frame, engine, etc.
Small parts may be missing (eg some quick couplings)
I am selling the bike as expressly Bastlerfahrzeug. Without warranty, withdrawal or renegotiation.
I ask specifically to see before the bike if interested, so there are no misunderstandings.
There are various coordination and detail work still necessary.
Also I recommend to replace all wear parts (except chain set).
The bike is 28 years old and was the last 19 years only 100 kilometers moved.
The engine runs smoothly, can be started any time. A sample run is not possible due to the age of the wear parts and the non-roadworthy condition.
The rear stand is not included in the auction, but the copy of the parts list (folder with transparencies), there's this.
The motorcycle must be paid for and picked up within one week after the auction.
Vehicle is about 25 km north of Regensburg.
Bidder will pay 30% of the sale price.
Please ask questions by e-mail or at 0175-1629158 18-21 clock
Only bid if you agree with all these points. |

Look beyond the paint, and that could be a good buy for someone. _________________ Dreaming of a Tesi in the garage. |

I so hope that's red and not pink! But sadly i have my doubts
Still, looks to be in pretty good shape. I didn't realize the db1 had such a bulky tank. I thought the early ones had alluminium tanks but must have been only the very first ones? _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Pretty in Pink...it is for sure.........The tanks look bulky...but what you cant see is that it "flops" over and around a central frame spar going from the rear shock to the steering head.....Only Bimota I know that has this rather than just a perimeter frame...and a lot of the electrics, coils regulator etc are hidden beneath it |

Do you see the paint on the YB6 for sale on ebay.de. Hmmmm. Maybe not to my taste.
Although the colours on the DB1 are growing on my too. _________________ Dreaming of a Tesi in the garage. |

The first few production ones had ally tanks and ally airboxes...until they got enough money in to get injection moulded units together...bit like the Db5 Mille...that has an ally tank...and now they are plastic on the later models |

Well the Db1 finished off at a shade over 8500 GBP...or 10,320 Euros in foreign money....
http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=111308543917&showauto=true
Some frantic bidding in the last five seconds taking it 2,000 euros higher.....
I reckon theres about 1500-2000GBP to resume it to road ready, tyres, belts, perishable parts, seals, bearings etc etc....and then another 2K for paint if the new owner cant live with its pink livery........Good or bad price....? |

I'd agree....this seems like a nice complete bike...and would have been worth a punt at around 6K....but not at 8.5K........having not moved or ran for 19 years its all about how well it was stored......but rubber can perish no matter what....and Italian electrics dont like to sit without current running through them........will make a nice project for someone......anyone on here bought it? |
