|
|
Hi to all.
I'm new to Bimota's and am currently restoring a YB8. I will certainly need replacement Allen screws for the bike.
The screws all have shallow allen heads so i presume are 'specials' but possibly common to a lot of the other bikes Bimota have produced. Can anyone please steer me in the right direction towards purchasing some replacements. |

Cool. I was looking for these a while ago and couldn't find any. I haven't been able to find and stainless ones in Aus even going through fastener suppliers.

Thanks for the info Evil.
I'm new to Bimota's but have owned several MV Agusta's and still have a 1000s.
The bike I'm restoring is in pretty poor shape. It appears that it hasn't had any TLC since it was shipped out from the factory. The bike has been on its side at one point in its life and there are acid stains in the frame. I was wondering if anyone out there has ever had the frame of a YB8 re-anodised? I like to be thorough when I restore bikes and it'd be a shame to rebuilt the engine into the frame as it is.
Any advice regarding frame renovation/restoration would be good, also what shock are folk using as the OEM Marzocchi isn't so good. I have a pitted fork leg too?
Thanks again for the advice.

I haven't had that done but my bike has a polished frame. There's no reason you can't reanodise it you just need to find somebody with a vat big enough.
Or powder coat it silver. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Maxton did a unit for my YB8 a good few years ago and may still have the details tucked away. Failing that, it's the Ohlins unit that went on the YB8e. _________________ What, Jonny's gone! |
