I'm not too familiar with YB sidestands......on my DB2 it was also a suicide stand....but with a simple mod its become a normal stand...by relocating the top mount of the springs further forward on a plate added and bolted to the sidestand mount.....more here and thread to original....all depends on whether you have a spare fixing hole forward of the side stand pivot bolt....

Hi,
The stand on my sb6 had been lengthened but that gave me the problem that the bike was so straight it fell over every time a wind blew.
I took the stand off and had it shortened to 283mm which seems perfect.
