One of the problems with the Walbro system is that it has only 2 drivers for the injectors which means both injectors in each barrel have to be fired together. This makes low load tuning very difficult if not impossible.
A friend, who is quite knowledgeable in ECU injection systems, commented that the Walbro system is more late 80's technology and not mid 90's hence probably the superior performance of the Magneti Marelli system.

I'm sure he is quite knowledgeable in ECU systems, but is quite knowledgeable about the TDD MINJ01 ECU? That's the one on the V-Dues. Has he traced out the entire circuitry? I have! I guess he knows that with a one minute wire swap and a little extra code it now has sequential injection! The components used in this ECU are no different than the Magneti Marelli 1.6 ECU's used on Ducati 748,916,996's, Moto Guzzi Daytona RS, Sport 1100, V10 Centauro MV Agusta F4 1000S, F4 Tamburini, F4 SPR, etc...

The code is the limitation for the ECU. The ECU from a hardware standpoint is more than enough!

I think that in this argument we are concentrating a lot only in the ECU, when the problem with the Walbro was the all packaged…
And the lack of time to develop it as it should had been done.
But referring only to the ECU from zero the Magneti Marelli that you refer is an ECU predisposed to control up to 6 injectors as is the same used on Alfa Romeo injection systems for V6 engines and in some Fiat engines also.
Don’t know exactly which was the model of ECU used on the Vdue but I will find out.
Because t is possible that the system is different for the 4 strokes and 2 strokes as it is now with the Athena systems.

Also another big difference that made the change from one system to the other was in the fuel capacity of the gas tank, due to the dimension of the Walbro control units the gas tank had its lower side changed losing about 5 liters of capacity…

I am glad you got it sorted. A lot of VDue owners with the standard system will be knocking on your door

Well VDue-pt, I imagine he has put a lot of time into the program & he wants to sell the updated software/code so I don't suppose he is interested in sharing for no dollars.
My friend has spent a lot of time & effort to get the MoTec working on mine & as it is very close to being finished, I don't imagine he would want to give away his intellectual property either.

That's normal, but at least talk and share ideas, so if the work is good and if my friend and costumer was interested maybe I could pay him for a software update.
The Iniezione that I have here also as the Motec ECU, but with all the injection system modified as you can see in the photos.

Do you know if that is the one modified by Motorrad-Fiedler? There was also one fitted with a MoTec unit by a couple of guys who worked for GM in Melbourne back in the early 2000's, but I think that one went to Malaysia.
By the way, those pistons look to be in remarkably good condition. There must have been a lot of oil around.

I know that on the Iniezione was installed the modification made by a German company on the injection system, but all the installation was made by some guys in France, initially the German system maintained the 4 injectors but in France they took of 2 of them. Unfortunately I don’t know the names of the companies because Piero didn’t told me.

The piston I suppose that you are referring to the Trofeo, this one’s had more than 4.200 Km as the bike mainly had been used on track and as is recommended to change them every 5.000 Km when the bike is used like that, I’m installing a new ones.
For the oil on the bike was being used a 2 stroke Racing oil, if the information is correct the guy that before serviced the bike used the now called ENI.

The link were you can see the technical details:
