But I'm back again...
Hope all of you are well, esp Nige. Haven't spoken to him in years.
For various personal & health reasons not been riding the Bimota but have some time now and went to sort out the issues from last time out. Won't rev out, leaking carb, bad idle, only starting on one cylinder and so on...
Anyway to cut long story short, carbs off and all jets taken out and apart from the mains they were all blocked or partially blocked. Float valve had some tiny specs of dust in, so that would explain fuel overflow.
Now the screws on the sides of the carbs, not the main idle screws, but the one on one side that is next to the fuel line, what should they be set to? Seems I have 1 set at 1.5 turns out and the other 4 turns out!
That should sort out the starting issues and shite running.
Now the max revs issue. Not the choke at all. Both were free and not snagged however, the top cylinder pv wasn't moving and was stuck closed. So this could explain why it wouldn't rev beyond 8.5K.
Thing here is there is a "pin" which hold the shaft to the pivot arm. This has snapped so hence no movement. Probably as the PV is quite stiff to move up and down it sheered off. So some duck oil on the shafts and removing all the 2T oil on these seems to have freed it somewhat but still much more stiff than the lower cyl.
Also noticed fraying on the cable off the servo.
Question is:
Servo/PV cable. Is this is a Piero jobby?
Pin to hold the shaft to the pivot arm? Again, Piero or anyone else had to replace this and found a local alternative?
Cheers chaps..
any help much appreciated...
