|
|
Im wanting to get some feedback from the members here and ask about pricing on a BIMOTA.
What is the fair and current market value for a BRAND NEW BIMOTA SB8K Santa Monica 2006 USA model?
I have a new, unused Santa Monica. It has the MSO , but has never been registered, never titled, never plated. And never ridden. So it is as new as a new bike can get.
I have a number of expensive upgrades on the bike as well, but to keep things simple and easy Im asking the value on a new 100% stock bike as it comes from the factory in Italy.
Once I have an idea of the current fair market value I can get better idea of what the bike is worth.
The bike and myself are located in the USA.
However, I would also be happy to hear what the Santa Monica is selling for in other parts of the world as well ( for examples; is there any brand new Santa Monica bikes for sale in the UK and or in Europe anywhere .....in a dealership or in private hands ) .
Thanks for any help with this topic

Asking price, market value and what you can actually get for it may be vastly different. I think on a bike like this it depends greatly on getting the right person at the right time who wants to buy it. Then it depends on how much he really wants it. I honestly have no idea how you would value something like this. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Hi Daotoys.........As with any Bimota...its all about how much you would be willing to accept...and how much any buyer wants to pay...and his intended end use for the bike...i.e. as a collectors piece never to be ridden...or as a bike to use...as I understand that titled bikes in the US can at least be used....and registering state to state can be difficult.........In the UK theres no issue in registering untitled bikes...as long as it can pass the emissions test and Noise level check also.....but if other ten years old from date of manufacture...then we dont even have to pass those elements to get a license for the bike..........
As an indication.....someone on here paid aroung 15K GBP for a Brand new Zero mileage Santa Monica...without title...and got it registered for road use........There were a couple of others for sale in Germany and Italy...which were similarly priced...and new....but werent selling....hence this person managed to get this deal on his own Santa.........Market seems to have shifted in that the older 80's Bimotas are fetching more money than 90's and 2000's onwards Bims...people speculating that they will appreciate more than the newer stuff.....and that the older folk buying them are the ones with the money and wanting to buy the bike they always promised themselves from 30 years ago etc etc....... |
