|
|
Just setting this back up after various parts had snapped, warped and freyed.
What is actually deemed as open and what is deemed as closed?
As when setting it up I seem to have a default position with the pv pins/shafts in the up position or exposed from the cylinder which I assumed was open.
Can't be arsed to take the exhausted off and look as it took me ages to get them on and fully sealed with no oil leaking.
Can someone take a look and tell me what the default position should be once it been turned on and the servo has reset?
thanks.... |

Does anyone have Nige's email then? I have his old one from 2009 but that doesn't exist any more as obv changed it. If you do, can you mail him and he'll then vouch he knows me and I'll mail him directly as I know he'll take a look and help.
Cheers,

thanks for the pages... I do have the manual and I'm working off it.
the issue I have is understanding it correctly as the English isn't great and it is also incorrect in one place relating to the cables.
Once the ignition is turned on and the kill switch on the servo will do a reset:
What is the default position of the PV pins/shafts at this point?
Mine are out/up.
So without taking the exhausts off I'm not sure if this is the closed position or open position. You would think open but hard to tell.
I think this is correct but hard to tell.
I can't run the bike yet as I'm waiting for new pins as mine are slightly warped.
As originally I had a problem whereby the bike wouldn't rev beyond 9K.
And investigating the top PV had snapped the locating pin in the pivot arm and was stuck down, which I'm assuming is closed.
so that could explain the not wanting to rev out or part of it anyway. |

When the pins are down the PV is closed. |

Had a similar problem with mine, but it was the bush the the PV pin runs in, it had worked loose in the barrel.. |

will check that when the new pins turn up. don't think the bush is loose as doesn't appear to be turning or moving. oddly enough when I slackened one of the pins off it would move up and down and then turning it another 180' and it got stuck again, so hence why I think the threaded part of the pin is very slightly bent. |

could be Trev. once the new ones turn up I'll see which ones operate smoothly and which don't. that should then tell me whether it's a pin or bush or something else.... |

A little tap does not hurt them
But they work well when fitted right

after getting them up against a decent metal straight edge I can see one them is very slightly bent so I'm pretty sure it is that. also swapped them over and the issue goes with the pin and not the bush so I'm 99% confident the new one(s) should resolve it... Will post up once I have them and they are in. Do you know Trev what position your pins/valves are once the servo has reset with the engine not started? Mine are up or open. is that same as on yours do you know? Still waiting for a new cable to come from Piero so just testing at moment with the freyed one... |
