Nice to see you keeping the DB7 in great shape despite high miles...and I've just spotted your nice carbon covers on the water pump and alternator housing case....nice...and of course your signature Bimota "b" logo turned alloy piece on the bearing oil cover....nice touches.....Do you claim them as your own when people see them or just "bimota special touches"??? Laughing

Glad to hear your enjoying it, just coming up to 7,000km on mine and just gets better with more km. What ever would you replace it with!

Guys, thanks for the nice comments!!!

The middle pipes are from Superbike Mugello. They stoped manufacturing bended pipes and now are making this out of welded segments. They have also different solution together with twin mufflers.

Steve, you notice every detail Shocked I cleaned the the bike over the winter... Carbon cover on left side brings up this side of engine, since is more boring than right side with open cover for the clutch. I fitted the last AL cover for electrics that I have, since my producer is gone out of the business and I need to find new one.

I must still produce some sort of cover for the right side where the cat was before. There is a little gap and it looks a little weird... On left the left side is ok. Then the bike is prepared for next season...

Could you let me know where you got the carbon covers on the water pump and alternator housing case? Would like to get for mine, yours is the first I've seen. I'm also trying to find where can get a carbon exhaust hanger.

Water covers are easy enough to find........

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DUCATI-848-1098-CARBON-THERMOSTAT-WATER-COVER-/131189858699?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item1e8b86618b

Alternator covers are a bit harder to come by....full size ones not really listed for Ducati 1098's as they wouldnt do any good due to full fairings on those bikes....part sized ones available...

I bought carbon cover here:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/carbonfibrefever/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=

or

http://www.carbonfibrefever.moonfruit.com/contact/4582001304

It was not perfect fit... spent at least 4 hours fitting. There is excess of material around bolts, but final result is good. The alternator cover is made by me yes... (3D file), but milled by my friend who went out of the business... Currently looking for new producer.

Here is the last bit of the puzzle - I made a little cover out of aluminium just for the right side where were bigger hole in the place where cat was before. On left side it's ok, since pipes fill the gap. So it is ready for the season...

Hi guys,

it is been a while since I posted something here... I have no excuse Wink. Anyway, maybe someone would prefer to do this modification for DB/8. Original screen has holes for lights and I find quite annoying to clean flies after every ride. Looks of the bike is also improved...
