Does anyone have any history of the bike? Is the yellow a respray colour? I'd definitely prefer an original paint scheme, preferably red and black. _________________ ZX-6R J2

Definitely not an original SB6 colour
So, your after the slower black/red colour
everyone knows the white/red/carbon colours are better |

I'm just always suspicious of non standard colours as indicative of a nasty drop. Were there just the two colour options, then? _________________ ZX-6R J2

No, there is actualy a third, very rare, grey option.
Only a handfull were built, about 20 from memory
Good to be suspicious but there's nothing that can't be repaired, the price has to reflect any damage and this one, at 6k is way overpriced if it was mint |

I took some pictures of this bike at J&S - they are posted in the Bimota Chat section under the "SB6 in bits" heading. Bike has been painted and, as Oily states, is way overpriced. |

Not at all
I bought mine a few months ago for a bit above half that. A few have sold on gaybay over the last 6 months for sub 4k |

It's up to 3.6k already.
GK says it looks OK except for the colour, which is growing on me.
Might be worth a bid but I expect the reserve is up towards the 6k they are after
Don't forget, it's nearly spring and bike prices normally shoot up in spring |

True, but I think you're right about the reserve and I'm not convinced by the yellow. At all. _________________ ZX-6R J2

Interesting how much has been bid so far for this particular machine - no doubt helped by the fact that last week's MCN thinks that £5,999 is a bargain for this particular bike!!!
All I'd say is buyer beware - the non-standard colour is a bit of a no-no for most SB6 afictionados, although in fairness it doesn't look half as bad as some of the "exotic" colour schemes I've seen applied to some SB6's.
The other things to remember are this - it has a kph speedo - does it also have headlights which don't yet confrm the UK regulations? worse still, is the engine restricted in any way if it's a Europen import. I know of someonw who acquired an SB6 which was an EU model, and on the dyno produced far less than 100bhp with little chance of resurecting the missing horses. If you're into Bimotas purely for the image, then this may of course not matter too much. However as far as I'm concerned you can never have enough power - even if you're never likely to use it all!
Enough said - you pays your money and takes your choice at the end of the day.

There seem to be a lot of sellers out there who don't know the price these bikes sell for. Perhaps they're dealers who (rightly?) look at the bikes and think they must be worth 6k? _________________ ZX-6R J2
